I am musical, logical, and a quasi-geek.

My Self-Summary

I'm Teresa. I'm pretty happy with my life but there is one thing that could definitely be improved and that's my love life.

I think the brain is the sexiest part of the human body. Sure, I like good physical looks as well, but if someone doesn't have much going on up in the head, then I don't really care much. I love discussing music, art, philosophy, pop culture, politics, technology, science, sociology, nature, etc.

I consider myself logical but I also am human. I am still open-minded and artistic. I don't like when people are too rational that they become unreasonable. I also don't like when people are too free spirited and open-minded that their brain falls out, haha.

Religion:
I am not religious and will not date anyone who is. (Non-dogmatic religions like Unitarian Universalism I am cool with). I believe in a lot of Humanist values and consider myself a moral person. I base my beliefs on logic and reason. If you base yours on irrational faith, we most likely view the world in a much different way and would be incompatible. That's not to say we couldn't be friends; but I don't think we could be in a successful relationship.
(I'm not saying that I hate anyone with different religious beliefs than mine or that I approve of sweeping generalizations of people of certain faiths. I have many friends with different religious views and I'm glad for that).
I have upset some people by putting this on my profile. I didn't write this to be mean or rude. I am just trying to find the best match on here, as I assume most of us are. :)

Politics:
I'm a social liberal who believes in the 2nd Amendment and a fiscal conservative in the old school sense. You could say my political beliefs are along the lines of Libertarian or Classical Liberalism, though I am also an Independent in the sense that I do not vote just based on political parties or labels.
I'd like to date someone with similar political views. They don't have to be exactly like mine. I don't mind if you label yourself differently, as long as you are not a social conservative.

Who I'd like to meet:
• Down to earth folks.
• Realistic dreamers.
• Someone I can have intriguing conversations with (and comfortable silences, when necessary). Sometimes a guy might not catch my eye at first, but if we can have a great conversation, I'll be hooked.
• Those who are very passionate and have goals that drive them.
• Individuals who are willing to take risks but not those who don't think before they do things.
• People who don't forget that they should learn from the past, but not dwell on the past.

What I’m doing with my life

I am always working on music. I play keyboards/synth/piano. You can check out my music at www.cherryteresa.com or www.myspace.com/cherryteresamusic.

I'm currently going to school half-time for Information Technology in the evenings. I also like to blog. But lately I have not been updating it as much, due to my studies. I work as an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a health insurance company.

My ethnicity - "What are you"? And... "You're 28? You look younger".

The six things I could never do without

• My keyboard/synth
• A computer with a high speed connection, preferably Mac.
• My friends
• Contact Lenses
• Q-Tips. And lip balm/lotion in the winter.
• Food/water/shelter/money and all that of course

I spend a lot of time thinking about

• The heights of some people's intelligence and creativity.
• The depths of some people's stupidity and ignorance.
• Philosophical, ethical, and political issues.

On a typical Friday night I am

It used to be going out to local bands' shows and then going to an after party or diner with friends. Now that I'm in school (and work full-time), I usually want to do something more chill on a Friday night and save the partying for Saturday nights. But it just depends on what is happening in town.

I'm just as interested in staying in and snuggling on a Friday night as I am maybe going out to a dinner and movie as I am going out and being more social with lots of people.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

You should message me if

If you think we'd be a good match and especially if you are the following:
• Confident but not cocky. (A little shyness can also be cute as long as the person still has some self-esteem).
• A little bit geeky/nerdy but still well-rounded and sociable.
• Knowledgeable and cultured but not in a snobby way.
