Believe it or not meeting someone for dinner is not as popular as it used to be among younger folks. I know only because I was hugely successful in the 80-90's meeting women at malls etc., getting their number, and hooking up for dinner after a few conversations on the phone. As I got older I continued to attract and seek younger unmarried women, but it took a while to find some willing to meet for dinner. Of course that was in L.A. and there is a lot of pressure on women out there to look great so a lot of them don't eat...or eat out. It's sad because there is a lot of great food out in the world. After I talked with some younger men I realized many them didn't spend that kind of money on the first date. There seems to be too much suspicion over 'a failed date'. To me meeting someone for dinner is a great way to see if there is any potential to continue and besides we're going to eat anyway. To me a lot of those younger guys are just cheap and lack savoir faire.
