I am honest, ambitious, and loyal.
My Self-Summary
I grew up in the South, so people say I have good manners (I think
so too). I lived in Europe during my teenage years, spent 4 years
in the Marines, worked in Latin America for a couple of years, even
a little time in Japan, then started my own company. Throw a bunch
of college into the mix and there's my justification for claiming
I'm intelligent and ambitious.
I have this refreshing quality of WYSIWYG
(what-you-see-is-what-you-get). I'm the definition of an open book
and very easy going.
The two most pivotal times in my life were the Marines (I didn't
realize it at the time, but I did later) and the first couple of
years starting my company (talk about putting yourself out
there).
As the face of a consulting firm I'm usually walking around during
the week in overpriced suits, but I'm hardly metro-sexual, so if
you're into feminine guys then look elsewhere. I work on my own
cars, spent 4 years as a grunt in the Marines, love steak and
football. I don't walk around scratching myself and farting all
day, but I am very much a man's man. That being said, I'm very much
a romantic. I was raised by a single mom and admire and respect an
independent woman as much as anyone, but I enjoy the role of being
a romantic man. If I really like you then I want to spoil you, it's
just the way I was raised and who I am.
I believe one of the greatest things a man can ever do for his
children is to love their mother. I don't think enough children see
a good model of that these days.
Oh, and I'm an ENTJ (Myers-Briggs personality type).
What I’m doing with my life
I moved to WA to start a second company in a different industry and
this is my first year here. I'm very much the typical entrepreneur.
I love working but partly because I am working towards a goal. This
life has so many wonderful things for us to experience and I'm
trying to set myself up to be able to quasi-retire before I get
very old. I don't have a specific age I'm shooting for as I think
it will depend on the needs of my family at the time (the "family"
part is an assumption, but I hope a realistic one).
Other than work, I stay busy with a few hobbies. I'm a big sports
fan and try to go to the games. I'm a certified divemaster and love
to travel and scuba dive. I love the water and outdoors.
Part of my job is focused on the travel/resort industry, so my
favorite perk of the job is that I get to travel to some very cool
places for work and my clients generally take very good care of
me.
I do a lot of business in Mexico and I'm active in the Eagles Wing
Foundation in Puerto Vallarta. I don't run a non-profit
organization; however, we are very active with the two orphanages
the foundation works with there (Casa Hogar and Casa Esperanza).
This is something I'm passionate about and would love to be in a
position later in life to be able to do more work like this.
I’m really good at
BBQing! I can grill like a champ! I even amaze myself sometimes,
but all that confidence ends when you put me in a kitchen. I can't
explain it, but God has seen fit to curse my cooking skills when I
enter the kitchen. I am quite simply: awful. All the smoke
detectors in my place have the batteries removed because I kept
setting them off when burning (aka cooking).
The first things people usually notice about me
I get compliments on my eyes a lot (they change from blue to green
all the time), but I'm not sure if that's the first thing people
notice. I'm a good dresser I guess, a lot of people comment on that
too, but it's mostly because I'm in the marketing industry and have
to look the part. I'm actually more comfortable in jeans and
Carhartts or if I'm by the water I'm sporting flip flops (because
mine have a bottle opener in the sole)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I read a lot to keep me current with my profession. I like most of
the classics in literature and have a small collection of works
I've read over the years.
I'm in love with good food. God blessed me with taste buds that
literally love almost everything that touches them. I'm not
exaggerating, I sit down at every meal and think it's the greatest
thing I've ever eaten and the spicier the better.
The six things I could never do without
Family
Food
Passport
LSU football
Conversation
A comfortable bed
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work. I wish I spent less time thinking about it, but when you have
a lot invested in your job I think it's only natural that you think
about it a lot. I'm working on trying to shut it off though.
Food. I'm a total food whore. I can't cook to save my life, so my
friends wives always invite me over and feed me. I go to the
friend's house that has the wife that can cook the best, thus I'm a
food whore.
I'm a young, healthy, male, and not a prude so what do you think I
think about?
Wow, work, food, and sex, men really are simple creatures. I
promise I'm a little deeper than this, but in the beginning I said
I was honest so there you have it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Who knows, my Friday nights are fairly unpredictable. I may go out
of town for the weekend, so if I do I'll usually leave Friday. If
I'm meeting clients then I'm probably having martinis downtown, but
if I'm with friends its a couple beers in a local dive bar. I'm low
maintenance, so it doesn't take much for me to be occupied and
happy on a Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I was emancipated at 13 years old.
You should message me if
I'm not overly concerned with your age, but I need to be able to
have an intelligent conversation with you or I'll lose interest.
Not to sound like an ass, but: I can spot a gold digger a mile
away, so don't waste my time and find a guy that doesn't care about
your motivation. Also, I've got my life together and although I'm
not requiring you to have a perfect life, I am asking that you not
bring any drama into mine.
Thanks.
