I am vibrant, full of life, and a tough cookie.

My Self-Summary

OkCupid is like the gum that gets stuck to the bottom of your shoe, and no matter how hard you try, you just can't get it off. This is my 5th or 6th account here. I'm back, of course, for the lolz.

How about some random facts? I'm a quick witted half Portuguese Nintendo fangirl. I live on the sarcastic side of life. I like to solve math problems for fun. I'm a former vegetarian, and I still tend to eat meat less than 5 days a week. I've been playing the piano since I was 9 and am very musically inclined (I also frequently hear what a nice singing voice I have, but I never believe anyone with regards to that). I'm a geography and geology nut (bachelors in geography, someday a masters in geology). I like to cook when I have time (my specialty is potato soup). I hate fake/acrylic nails and I've only ever had them twice in my life. In a related vein, I wear very little make-up, I tend to prefer the natural look. I probably have a slightly unhealthy obsession with lip gloss though. I love playing video games with my nephews and niece. I bead necklaces for fun and sometimes for profit (when a friend needs a gift and they'd prefer to give something handmade). I have three tattoos. I'm more of a cat person than a dog person, but I still like dogs. For some reason, I can't get enough pineapple orange juice.

I love my life, and I feel complete with or without a date/boyfriend. This is not to say that I wouldn't grasp onto the right guy for me should he come along. This is in fact trying to make my dear readers understand that I feel complete on my own, and I don't require anyone else to complete me. You should also feel complete on your own.

What I’m doing with my life

I currently work two jobs in child care. I'm in search of a higher paying job, so I can support myself to move out on my own and get a new car (I would have been out of my parents house sooner if I didn't break my ankle on August 18th).

Other things:
-I spend a lot of time studying for the GRE. I intend on going back to school to get my masters degree in Geology (I got my bachelors in Geography).
-Three nights a week I go to NoTown Roller Derby's practice as a NSO (Non-Skating Official). This is where I broke my ankle (on skates)!
-Once the ankle recovers I'll be back to visiting the gym 3-4 days a week.

**I may (or very well may not) be moving to the Los Angeles metropolitan area in March or so, so if you see me looking at your profile and you're in that area, that's more than likely why. :)

I’m really good at

Playing the piano, making potato soup, taking care of kids, solving math problems, playing drums on Rock Band with my nephews, beading necklaces, playing video games, Scrabble and Boggle, various other things.

The first things people usually notice about me

Usually it's my eyes or my smile. I tend to hear those a lot.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Book: Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates. Fun fact: When I was a kid, I always used to steal my brother's book on Greek myths, and when we grew up, he gave it to me when he didn't want it anymore. I've always had a fascination with Greek myths.

TV: Futurama, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, House... But my favorite show as of the last two years has been Survivor!

Movies: Life is Beautiful, Silent Hill, 50 First Dates, Spirited Away, Stranger Than Fiction (the only acceptable Will Ferrell movie), Forgetting Sarah Marshall. In general, I tend to prefer romantic comedies or just plain comedies. I hate romance movies and would rather watch Sci-Fi or Action any day. I'm extremely picky with the movies I'll buy on DVD, I have to really like the movie to spend money on it. Ask me about my collection sometime, you might be surprised to find out what I'm into.

Video games: Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Majora's Mask. There are others, but those are my top three.

Music: Superchunk, Pinback, Portastatic, Ludo, Foo Fighters, and various others. I have a wide taste in music. But I loathe polka. For a better idea: My Last.Fm page

Food: Breakfast is better than everything but a good pizza. Seriously. I've been on a life long quest to find the best pizza in California! So far, Luna's in Old Town Clovis is probably the best! Ethnically speaking however, it's all about Italian, Mexican, and Chinese for me...pretty much in that order!

The six things I could never do without

My family, my best friends, NoTown Roller Derby (I'm a staff member, not a skater.)...in truth, that's probably about it. I think I'd learn to live without anything else.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Geographically and Geologically related concepts. Sometimes I'll spend a lot of time just thinking about plate tectonics. It's nerdy, I know, but it's what I got my degree in.

On a typical Friday night I am

Working.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm not a very private person, so if you're curious, ask away!

I'm a bit of a closet nerd, beyond video games. I can usually keep up with comic book references and various other things. Try me.

I don't find Will Ferrell to be all that amusing.

I'm very big on communication. If we're exclusively dating (read: seeing only each other) and we don't see or speak to each other at least every other day, even a text message will do. I'm truly easy to please.

Proper typing skills go a long way with me. By that I mean not sending "how r u?" in your first message. I mean, come on, you're only missing 4 letters. And what's wrong with the shift key? It needs loving, too!

I think Donnie Darko and Final Fantasy VII are both horribly overrated (Note: I didn't say they were awful, I still enjoy them, but they're overrated!).

And the Blair Witch Project was a waste of money.

Religion is definitely not a big part of my life, and as I discovered in my last serious relationship, dating someone that is much more into religion than me will probably not work out. However we could still be good friends.

You should message me if

Something I said makes me sound nifty, because I'm super nifty.

I'm not a player (odd thing for a woman to say, but I've been asked), I don't party (never even went through a phase where I did, just never liked that lifestyle), I'm not a drinker, smoker, or drug user. I like mostly wholesome fun and activities. I'm also at the age in my life where I'm not looking for a fling, and am looking more for a long term relationship. At the moment I'm just looking to take it easy and maybe meet some new interesting people, as I just got out of a ridiculously immature relationship. But if something should arise from our new found friendship, then that's awesome.
