My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm very analytical; I think that comes out in a lot of ways with my personality, most often in the form of bad jokes. I enjoy puns: good ones for the subtle wittiness; bad ones for the cringe factor. I guess I pride myself in using my head. I'm a pretty easy going guy...though I take care of business too.

I'm ex-Mormon. I am not religious and I generally view religion as device to further generally-bigoted causes and greed, not truly for the benefit of mankind. I am still interested in religion, but for more of a social commentary reason than something I would care to be involved in.

I love science and reason. The true tools of progress. Progress seems like a good thing- rights, technology, knowledge. Technology, though; I often wonder if it's really making the world a better place. Is it awesome that I can date online? Sure. Is it better than going out and meeting someone? Doubtful. Does this stop me? Hell no. Is a car that gets 50 mpg better than one that gets 20 mpg? Sure. Is it better than being able to walk to work and wherever else you need to go? Absolutely not. I'll stop here or we'll have an unreadable essay on our hands soon in which I keep asking myself questions and we all lose.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work doing Quality Control stuff with a biotech company. If that interests you, I'm truly sorry :p

I also keep telling myself to get back into school for something, whether a professional or advanced degree I am planning on getting that started sooner than later. I should rephrase that, I have taken several steps towards that, and my plan is in motion.

I also have hobbies, at least I think that's what they are. I like hiking, running, reading endless tabs on Wikipedia, disc golf, playing sports, occasionally even watching sports; sometimes I volunteer for nonprofits, and it's probably not as altruistic as it sounds.

Far and away my the biggest thing I'm doing with my life is providing the type of environment I think my daughter and son deserve (and need to thrive). They're with me almost all the time when I'm not at work. I don't think I would have it any other way at this point.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-recalling information of dubious relevance.
-losing pens.
-making lists, rarely are they looked at ever again except as reference for a future list.
-sarcasm, but I am awful at identifying it in others.
-juggling (ok I'm not that good, but I can do it).
-Sudoku and other various puzzle games.
-tutoring chemistry/physics/math/philosophy. This either makes me extremely boring or extremely interesting; depending upon your point of view on the topics.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Scraggly facial hair (when applicable). Most people tell me I look a lot younger than I am. When clean-shaven I will get IDed when purchasing libations.

Otherwise people often notice my overuse of the word 'actually,' which tends to make me sound like a pompous ass. This is a phrase I'm trying to use more conservatively, and I actually think I'm doing quite well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Siddhartha, Dharma Bums, just about anything Roald Dahl, gotta love Shakespeare, The Little Prince, Ender's Game, A Separate Peace, Music of the Spheres

Fight Club, Dirty Work, City of God, most Wes Anderson films, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Star Wars!, Godfather and Godfather II, Gattaca, Dr. Strangelove, Reservoir Dogs, A River Runs Through It, Kung Fu Hustle, Reign Over Me, Swing Kids, Shawshank Redemption. I'll watch almost anything; I only hate movies if they come off as contrived- like most romantic comedies seem to.

Breaking Bad, The Simpsons, The Daily Show, Arrested Development, Saturday Night Live

I was raised on a diet of The Beatles, The Cure, and The Police. I must thank my father and eldest brother for these influences. Beyond that:
Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Weezer, The Shins, Coheed and Cambria, Pink Floyd, Millencolin, 311, Led Zeppelin, The Flaming Lips, Matisyahu, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Jimmy Eat World, Mae , Simon and Garfunkel, so many more...

Let me at it!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The one thing I could do without is making a ridiculous list of things that are either trivial (air, food, water, etc...) or a list of things that I could, if it came down to it, realistically do without (car, phone, plumbing, etc...). I like playing games, just not pointless games.

...oh I get it. Things I'm kind of unhealthily obsessed with, no problem.
1. internet- I'm here, right?
2. calculator/spreadsheets- I process stuff numerically all the time, and this is not only for work.
3. headphones-music at work makes it far more enjoyable.
4. new socks-best feeling ever? Possible. (Okay, really it's competing for second; first is taken and nothing comes close.)
5. shower loofahs- I need 3 personally-one for my face, one on a stick for my back, and the third for everywhere else; you're welcome for the visual.
6. time management- whether it's automated reminders or just me remembering what I've got to do and actually doing it, it's a good feeling when stuff is done at the end of the day.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
ways to make the world better, and how to be successful doing that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
catching up with friends and planning for the rest of the weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I worked at a call center during college, and I actually enjoyed it (to be fair, I've never hated any job I've done).

That I have a genetic deficiency known more commonly as colorblindness.

I'm kind of shy with new people. This doesn't last terribly long; and it's something I actively work on improving.

I read the Harry Potter series.

-you are a nerd, and embrace that as a positive thing.
