My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"A wise man once said that all human activity is a form of play. And the highest form of play is the search for Truth, Beauty and Love. What more is needed?"

I'm happiest when I'm following that search, though its easy to get distracted at times by, you know, life. And London. London is distracting. I've been here nearly 2 years now and it still surprises me.

Before London I lived in Edinburgh and then Manchester, studying physics and getting a PhD. I'm fascinated by how the world works and what it all means. I'm the guy my friends come to when they want to know why something is the way it is. I also tell excellent bedtime stories about the universe - apparently.

I used to put gigs on with my friends back in the day for some pretty well known bands. I was usually the sound guy, which I really enjoyed although I still get shots of anxiety when I hear mic feedback. I've not done that stuff since moving to London but I have started playing my own music, which seems to be going down well.

I've recently discovered that writing dating profiles makes me want to shoot myself in the head.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
At the moment, I make a good living making apps. I can usually work when and where I want as long as I get the work done. This suits me. I mostly work at home in my pants - living the dream.

I explore London, drink with friends, make plans for travelling, write music, explore my consciousness, try to figure stuff out, learn as much as I can, taste everything, plan startups, discover new things, meet new people, get out in nature, try to escape...

That all sounds well and good but mostly my life looks like this: http://imgur.com/a/YET5a

Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Ok fine, here's a list of music:
Arcade Fire (old stuff, none of this new shit), Owen Pallett/Final Fantasy, Philip Glass, Nico Muhly, Valgeir Sigurdsson, Ólafur Arnalds, múm, Sigur Rós (basically anything and everything that comes out of Iceland is fucking beautiful), Clint Mansell, Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Gil Scott-Heron, Daniel Johnston, Neil Young, Sufjan Stevens, Shearwater, Mountain Man, Man Man, Bat For Lashes, Peace, College, Sweet Baboo, Panda Bear, Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective, Alt-J, Beach House, Jens Leckman, Los Campesinos!, Alasdair Roberts, Jeffrey Lewis, Health, Yacht, The Blow, Neva Dinova (I was their UK bassist for about 4 gigs. Fun times), Dirty Projectors, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Phosphorescent, Jesca Hoop, David Dondero, Treetop Flyers, Dennis Jones, The Wave Pictures, Wild Beasts, Sparky Deathcap, Emmy the Great, Laura Marling, Andrew WK, My Bloody Valentine, System of a Down, Oasis (first 2 albums), The Verve, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Mars Volta, At The Drive-in, Test Icicles, Tool, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, The Libertines, The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Doors, Tracy Chapman, Paul Simon, Johnny Cash, NIN, REM, The National, Beck, Regina Spektor, Justice, Feist, James Blake, Beirut, Andrew Bird, anything with a fiddle...

Although none of this even comes close to Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Well this Friday I'm eating Indian takeaway and filling out a dating profile - THE GLAMOUR. I'm going to a party in a barn tomorrow if that helps?

Last weekend I went to this thing http://www.houseparty.org.uk/ then got followed home in the rain by an old man. It was really surreal, I'd turn around every 10 minutes and he'd be shuffling along behind me. Turns out he was lost so I got him a taxi home...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Heres Tom with the Weather."
