Hi there, my name is Kyle and thank you for visiting. I moved to Asheville in August of '14. I moved here from Boone after graduating with degrees in Business Admin. & Public Admin. I now work in sports management and love my career so far.
Like most people in Asheville, I love the outdoors. My favorite is hiking, but I recently picked up trail running. I enjoy working out 3 to 4 times per week, but I'm no meat-head that looks like he lives in the gym. I grew up playing sports year-round and still play/watch them as much as my schedule allows.
A few things I like:
I enjoy reading crime fiction or historical fiction novels. Name a board game, I'll beat you at it. Two sugars and cream for coffee. I enjoy jigsaw and crossword puzzles. I love to just get in my car and go...no planned destination...come back later that night or 2-3 days later, who knows.
What I'm looking for:
Let's make conversation first and see where it takes us. I love adventure. As I said above; I love just going somewhere with no destination. If this sounds like you, then we may click. I really appreciate someone who's willing to challenge me intellectually and have meaningful and opinionated conversations about important (or not important) topics. I was raised to be a gentleman and I intend to treat you as a lady ought to be treated.
- reminding you of things you would otherwise forget
- giving advice
- providing random factoids
- coming up with original ideas for places to go and see
- reading a good book in less than a day
- organization...keeping things tidy
- Grammar, punctuation, and spelling (pet peeve)
- keeping you guessing (dating applies here)
- I'm not afraid to laugh at myself
- I have a "touch of gray"
- I'm a big sports fan.
TV: Shows I'm keeping up with regularly right now (this is an ever-changing list): Quantico, Agents of Shield, Big Bang Theory, Last Man Standing, and I'm re-watching Burn Notice on Netflix. I also watch something sports related on a daily basis; usually ESPN.
Movies: I enjoy comedy, action, based on true stories, animated family movies, and an occasional romcom. Favorite actor is Jason Segel and actress is Natalie Portman. I'll have to admit I'm not a big fan of Will Ferrell movies. I find his movies entirely too stupid.
Music: acoustic blues, indie, alternative, and a little country. I'm old fashioned; I prefer am/fm radio. For you locals that can relate: 97.7 The Brew and 98.1 The River are my top two stations.
Food: Allergic to shellfish. Other than that, I'll give it a go.
Entertainment...Netflix, Internet, Music, etc.
Outdoors...especially in the mountains
baseball season (it's my career and I love it)
Why isn't "phonetic" spelled the way it sounds?
How does the guy who drives the snowplow get to work in the mornings?
Why are there Braille dots on a drive-up ATM?
What was the best thing before sliced bread?
Why call it a building if it has already been built?
Why is abbreviation such a long word?
Why does your nose run and your feet smell?
Is there another word for "thesaurus"?
If corn oil comes from corn, vegetable oil from vegetables, where does baby oil come from?
If pro is the opposite of con, is progress the opposite of congress?
Why can TIER and TEAR be pronounced the same, but TEAR and TEAR be pronounced differently?
This section was given to me to show my sarcastic side, which if you really get to know me, you'll get to see plenty of. It will be one of the first signs you get from me that says, "hey, I like you."
Then there is the occasional night where watching Netflix and not leaving the couch makes for a perfect Friday evening as well.
- Will challenge me intellectually and accept when I challenge you
- Support each other of our goals
- NOT looking for some fling or one night stand
- Enjoy traveling
- Enjoy the outdoors
- Think dinner/movie sounds like the most boring first date ever.
