I grew up in Arizona and went to college in Tucson. I lived abroad for two years... and have now spent 3+ years in Seattle.

I'm a grad student, so I teach at UW while I toil away at my thesis.

For the next couple of years, I'm working on my PhD.

I enjoy my life: in the mornings, I go to the gym before work, or go running afterwards around greenlake. I've got a few long term strength and running goals, and it's really fun to make progress. I love to cook, and so I cook most of my meals. I teach classes at various levels, and love challenging my students.

Otherwise, I like hanging out with my friends... drinking good beer (or wine, or scotch), singing karaoke, watching football, slacklining, playing music, or reading my kindle before bed.

Movies: Bourne Series, Match Point, Dark Knight, Amélie, Kill Bill, Taken. I grew up watching a movie every Sunday with my dad... I love movies.

Shows: I'm most consistent with Daily Show and Colbert Report. Also, Game of Thrones, Louis, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Dexter, The Office, Parks and Rec.

Music: Radiohead, Eva Cassidy, Yundi Li, Death Cab, Dave. I also like to play guitar and piano. I grew up playing violin and sang in choirs in high school and undergrad.

Food: Normally I make something healthy for dinner - like chicken and vegetables. I like to have a steak once a week or so. When I'm going out to eat... I guess Thai is my favorite; I love spicy foods! Also, Mexican (not as much in Seattle), Sushi, Italian, French. I miss great croissants.

Occasionally, I'll work late instead, and then go workout and meet my friends at a post-dinner bar for a pint and a game of pool or darts or karaoke or pinball.

I watched an entire season of Louis CK's show in one night. The man is a genius.
