My self-summary
I'm Chris. I try to have fun.
What I’m doing with my life
I make some money Ebaying records from time to time and wondering what I'm doing with my life.

I live in a house with a whole bunch of people where we have shows on a fairly regular basis. We also have dance parties and karaoke nights multiple times a month.

I legitimately love West Virginia and plan to spend my entire life here trying to make it the best it can possibly be. I spend a great deal of time volunteering and advocating for reproductive rights. I am in an open relationship which is pretty alright. I also take care of a beautiful black/white cat who happens to have dwarfism.
I’m really good at
Crate digging, pontificating, being diabetic, blowing smoke out of my bedroom window, drinking too much wine, and sleeping too late.
The first things people usually notice about me
is that I am dressed like I am from 1978 and that I am always at places where people who dress like they are from 1978 shouldn't be.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite Books: The Winter of Our Discontent (John Steinbeck), the Corrections (Jonathan Franzen), the Abortion (Richard Braughtigan), Naked Lunch (William S. Burroughs), Lolita (Vladimir Nabakov), is 5 (e.e cummings), Dubliners (James Joyce), and Wise Blood (Flannery O'Connor). I read a lot of those big books you used to have to read in school but hated. I eat up a lot of film criticism, sociology texts, and political bullshit also.

Favorite Movies: Manhattan (Woody Allen), Taxi Driver (Martin Scorsese), Robo Vampire (Godfrey Ho), Contempt (Jean Luc Godard), Videodrome (David Cronenberg), Breaking the Waves (Lars Von Trier), Marie Antoinette (Sofia Coppola), and Female Trouble (John Waters). I have a massive appreciation for art films as well as complete trash. The French New Wave and Italian Exploitation are my two favorite genres.

Favorite Television: Mystery Science Theater 3000, Portlandia, Squidbillies, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, TV Carnage, 30 Rock, and the Daily Show. I'm slowly recovering from being that jerk who says they don't watch TV.

Favorite Music: The Beach Boys, Starflyer 59, Kanye West, Rick James, Destroyer, the Louvin Brothers, the Avalanches, and Bela Bartok. This plays a massive part in my life, mainly due to my ever-growing record collection. If you feel like looking at my collection, check out http://www.discogs.com/user/umakemehatemusic/collection for a mostly complete catalog of my records.

Favorite Foods: Cheese, deep fried pickles, lemon poppyseed muffins, mashed potatoes, pineapples, popsicles, spinach, and waffles. I like to eat a lot.
The six things I could never do without
1) Vinyl.
2) Knowing nice people.
3) Thrift shops.
4) Non filter cigarettes.
5) Sweater vests.
6) Gin.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Record shopping, party ideas, and boobs.
On a typical Friday night I am
playing loud music, drinking, and other various activities that will probably give me a headache the next day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The first time I heard In the Air Tonight on vinyl and the drums kicked in, I cried.
You should message me if
I seem like a reasonably enjoyable person.
