My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, I could be all "Oh, I want to find someone who 'gets' me and blah, blah, blah..." But, I prefer a more "let's see if we have things in common and go from there" approach. Because the idea that opposites attract works with magnets, not people, and if you're the opposite of me we will not get along. So with that in mind... here's me.

Things I do with my free time....
... Volunteering, dancing, random, groupon-ing, editing Wikipedia pages, and random other things. I'm raising golden retriever and training him to (hopfully) be a service dog (STOP jumping puppy).

.... Play on the internet, watch movies, and read.. a lot. Museums (MIA's Third Thursday, Walker, Russian Museum of Art). Plays... (Jungle Theater, Guthrie, Gremlin, Fringe, Sample Night Live, The Heart of the Beast). I love, love LOVE going to burlesque and drag shows (The TC has epic performers! NGR anyone?). I'm not really into sports except for roller derby (watching, I can barely rollerskate). Science-y type things (Beaker & Brush, Social Science and Café Scientifique). I do some simple gardening. I've also done the skeptic/atheist conference scene (TAM, QED, Skepticon, Regional Atheist Conferences, Skep-tech) but sitting all day listening to lectures can get boooooooooooooooring, so I haven't done them lately. But I have enjoyed CONvergence! And in the past few years have become involved with the planning of said CON and also the SkepchickCON track/party room. Science + scifi + cosplay x beer = FUN! I belong to the local Barley's Angels chapter and enjoy touring/tasting all the great MN beers, and hopefully have a yummy cider brewing in my basement. If that goes well on to a stout!

... and, lastly, two words... BEER FEST!

What/Who am I looking for? I'm not really sure. The idea of "one true love" seems to work only in romance novels and Lifetime movies. I have not had a "serious" relationship for a very long time and am very independent. So, if you want someone who lives only for you... I'm not it. I have a very full life. But, while I love living and spending time on my own, it would be great to find someone who shares my interests and to try new things with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For whatever reason I went from working part-time in a hospital to full-time in home care. So, we'll see how that works out. I spend time my son (he's 27) and cuddling with my pets. I've traveled and have been to Europe a few times and random places around the US. Life is way too short to never leave Minnesota.
I'm also determined to try one of every beer. Thanks Untappd App!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Wrinkling up my nose, squinting my eyes and saying 'That sounds like bullshit'......
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I look like, or remind them of, someone else they know.
But really... I'm short. I smile a lot. I like to laugh. I'm nicer than my profile. When I talk I wave my hands around, a lot. I think my humor tends to come off a bit bitchy in an online format.. Sorry/Not sorry
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I read, a lot.. I have yet to meet a zombie apocalypse book I didn't like. Lots of fiction, especially if it has a bit of an edge to it. I like it dark, what can I say? Books about science and skepticism, because I live in the 21st century and we are figuring out how stuff works. Random books about history, whether it be about the Roman Empire or about the civil rights movement. Random biographies if I find the person/story interesting. I've started on graphics too.. Why not? Life's too short to be snobbish about my reading material.

I'm getting good use out of my Netflix account.... My favorite movies are horror, whether a good old-fashioned slasher or a monster movie. (I find it interesting/sad/surprising how few men who look at my profile answer 'no' to liking horror. How can anyone -not- like jump scares and gratuitous violence) I prefer indie-type comedies over slapstick. Lots of foreign films. And lots of random stuff television shows .. I would have to say, though, that Park Chan-wook's vengeance trilogy is the best thing put to film EVER! And Lars von Trier films are amazing.

Music... I'm open. I was a child of the 80's and loved the hair
bands, they will always have a special place in my heart. I'll listen to thrash metal, soul/jazz, rap, whatever. If it speaks to me, I'll listen. I also like classical music. I even like some country, well folksy country anyways. I've been enjoying the local music too..

And food.... I've been enjoying getting out and trying new restaurants. There are a lot of great places to eat in the metro area.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The trappings of 21st century technology and civilization, skepticism, science, modern medicine (we're all here because of antibiotics, anesthesia, and vaccines), secular democracy, my electric blanket to snuggle with.... The dream that one day I'll have magical superpowers and control the universe.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How every song I hear can be made into an awesome burlesque routine... SPARKLES!!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either working, on the computer, or doing something, or not.
Also, I've made it a goal to wear pants.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Whenever I drive by lottery billboards I daydream about what I'd do with all that money. I have a tendency to leave cupboard doors open... I hate talking on the phone with a white-hot passion. Text messaging and email have saved me from a complete life of solitude.

... I sound interesting enough to you ...
I'm simply looking for someone to hang out with, get busy with, and who won't make constant demands for my time. Is that really too much to ask?
and... You're not in your 20's. You're not looking for a random hook up. If you're religious, conservative, or have rigid gender conformity standards we will not get along. If you smoke, that's a deal breaker. I know what I want. And it's an enormous pet peeve that guys don't bother to read this or is it that they do and just don't care.
If you can't take the time to use proper spelling and punctuation in your on-line "first impression" don't be surprise if you're ignored.
And think that I'm obligated to respond to your messages? hahahahahahaha.... read this and kindly fuck off.
