I grew up in California, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Left private equity in Asia to pursue my 2nd and 3rd Stanford degrees - an MBA and M.S. in Earth Sciences. Happily traded the gilded trappings of high finance to soak up the blue skies and sunshine of indefinite retirement from adulthood. I'm now ferociously protective of my free time, personal happiness, flip flops, and herb garden. I love resisting conventional wisdom, instructions from authorities, and anything that can be described as a track.

-90%: the current plan is to settle in the Bay, travel internationally, and change the world through sustainable agriculture - making quality food accessible to people beyond yuppies in NY and hippies in SF
-10%: I think my inner voice is telling me to work on small farms, apprentice myself under disappearing trades in Japan and Italy, and write. This vision has little to do with business school. I hope they don't notice.

Eating the shadiest street foods without getting sick, drinking unreasonable amounts of scotch, trying to convince people of things I only marginally believe.

Movies: Thank You For Smoking, Eat Drink Man Woman, Chocolat, Tampopo, Love Actually, Before Sunset, V for Vendetta, Tokyo Drift (seriously), anything by Wong Kar Wai (In The Mood For Love), anything by Pedro Almodovar, anything by Judd Apatow (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, This is 40 was actually amazing)

Books: Are essential. We won't get far if curling up with a book is not your idea of a good day. Neil Gaiman, Margaret Atwood, Kazuo Ishiguro, Bill Bryson, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Michael Pollan, Anthony Bourdain, Jeffrey Steingarten, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Gilbert, Milan Kundera, Ayn Rand (amazing how much flak I get for this)

-Parents, sisters, close friends
-Books by the cartload
-Noodles: ramen, pasta, green tea soba, kway teow, udon, taiwanese beef noodles, dan dan noodles, chap chae, pad see ew...I would win this categories game
-Sunshine and blue skies. I went without these in China for a few years, and it crushed my soul
-Singing
-Naps and unstructured time

-Cooking. Going to the farmer's market, using up my herb garden, what to buy on my next Asian supermarket run, and who's going to eat all the food I just made. I grew up in a family of six and don't know how to make single servings.
-Working on organic farms in Japan or Italy, wandering the countryside, and writing. I spent last summer on a dairy farm in Hokkaido
-How much happier I am to have hopped off the gold starred, hamster filled train to oblivion

Knocking back a few single malts, then dressed as a cow or some other costume party with classmates

I fry green onion pancakes at 4am and force people to eat them.
