wise beyond my years, well intentioned, and fly as hell
My self-summary Propose an edit
I love this box. I continue to redo my profile alot in a constant
attempt at conveying who I am. Here we go in a nutshell:
I'm kind and compassionate. I try to be mostly spontaneous and
unpreditable in almost every aspect of my life. I start projects I
never finish. I speed most of the time and believe stoplights in
Detroit are mostly optional, and I pride myself on my safe driving.
I forgot to file my taxes several years ago and put it on my list
of things to do in my life. I fully enjoy life in almost every
single way. Except in traffic jams and when constipated.
I listen more than I talk and I spend much of the time as an
observer of life. I've been deeply moved to tears by some of the
simplest things imaginable.
Tetris is like meditation for me. While on a good tetris streak, I
feel the world unravel around me.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
4 months ago I had a moment where everything shifted into the right
focus and seemed balanced within.
Since then I quit my job, slept on the streets, trusted in the
kindness of strangers, and met amazing people from all walks of
life. I created. I drew pictures, wrote poems, took photos, and
told stories. I slept under the sun and danced more everyday than I
had in my entire life before.
I realized that my life is what I make of it and I'm turning it
into the most inspiring piece of art I can muster.

Picking out a good beer. Participating in acts of randomness.
MacGyver trivia.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
Right now it's my silly handlebar moustache. I was told I can't
have a beard at work so I figured I'd stick it to the man by
growing an obscene 'stache that I wax and curl daily.
I can also dance anywhere in front of anyone without any music and
I do so on a regular basis.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
BOOKS: I don't read very often but a friend of mine gave me one
called "Hardcore Zen" to read on a bus trip. It's my favorite book.
It's written by an ordained buddhist priest who was in a hardcore
punk band in the 80's. He discusses the relationship between punk
rock, making monster movies, and the truth about reality. All that
while describing Zen Buddhism in a nutshell. It's a very funny and
captivating read. I started reading it again after just finishing
it a few days ago.
MOVIES: I don't watch movies much anymore. Some favs "Requiem for a
Dream," "Braveheart," "Johny Got His Gun," "13th floor," "Forrest
Gump," "Waking Life," and the list could go on for days. I love
asian horror movies over any others. My favorite is "Shutter." I've
seen most of the cult classics and most I don't quite understand
the pleasure in. I love a movie that questions reality. Dark City,
13th floor, Matrix. Mafia movies is probably my favorite genre. The
Godfather 2 is probably one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Woody Allen is funnier than Will Ferrel any day of the week.
MUSIC: I love it. Folk, Punk, Indie, Hardcore, Psy-Trance, Ambient,
Post-Rock, Classical, World Music, Techno, silly club music that I
can dance to. I love Rise Against, Michael Franti and Spearhead,
Citizen Cope, Thrice, Shpongle, Xavier Rudd, Laith Al-Saddi, Celph
Titled, Iron and Wine, and who fucking knows what else. I have a
pretty good collection that rainges all over the spectrum.
FOOD: All natural peanut butter, mushrooms, fresh fruit, hot sauce,
and sandwiches. Everything is better in sandwich form. I once made
a pizza sandwich I shit you not. A piece of pizza between 2 slices
of bread. Thai, Indian, Italian, and free are my favorite types of
food.
I'd like to add beer into this list as well. It's a large portion
of my diet. Whole grains, fresh produce, and copius amounts of
beer.
I drink mostly at local brewpubs. My favorite is the Fort St
Brewery. I also spend time at Detroit Beer Co. as well mainly based
on location. My fridge is usually stocked with 10 varieties of beer
at any given moment. I can spend hours in the beer store and even
more discussing it. I'd love to check out your favorite beer while
we discuss the finer qualities of it. If you live near a brewery
anywhere that's worth trying, I'd love to try it.
My favorite beers usually belong in the stout category. I also
enjoy a nice IPA as well. As a general rule, the darker it is, the
more I'll enjoy it. Favorite breweries are probably: Stone, Bells,
and Founders. I like Aventinus Dopplebock, Sam Smith's Oatmeal
Stout and Nut Brown Ale, Stone Russian Imperial Stout, and many
locals. Kuhnhenn, Fort St, Detroit Beer, Royal Oak Brewery.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
smiles on a stranger, random profound moments of life, that time
you looked into that person's eyes and felt total connectedness if
only for one fleeting moment, love for myself, inner peace, and

I spend alot of time not thinking. Give that one a shot.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
No way man. I'm not falling victim to typical-friday-night-ness.
I'm usually out the bar drinking wif mah boizzzzzz!
How's that for typical?
But really I'm always down for anything. Local music, fine cuisine,
delicious craft beer, dancing my worries away, napping at the park,
or a rousing intelectual debate on nothing in particular that spans
well into morning.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I'm shy and boring but I have a certain charm that makes you smile
too much to care.
