I am stubborn, painfully shy, and your mom.

My Self-Summary

***WARNING!***
I might be dropping off the face of the planet (well, at least as far as OKC is concerned) any day now ... if I don't/haven't responded to your message, it may have more to do with the fact that I don't have the energy to deal with people rather than an actual lack of interest.
***WARNING!***

I'm painfully shy when exposed to large groups of people or uncomfortable social situations, but I open up a lot when I feel comfortable. I hate bars, so I spend most of my time playing World of Warcraft on my computer, surfing the internet, drinking, or watching tv or movies. My favorite way to unwind after work is to combine as many of those things at once as possible.
I don't get out much, other than to hang out my friends.
My goal right now is to learn to solve a Rubik's cube in under 90 seconds.

***Important note: I _am_ looking for a serious relationship, but a polyamourous one. This is something that is very important to me. This does NOT mean I'm just looking for sex. If that's what you want, please look elsewhere.***

I call myself an agnostic, but a more fitting label would probably be a superstitious atheist. My non-belief in god is similar to my non-belief in the bogey man; still, I don't dangle my toes over the edge of the bed after the lights go out - just in case. I think my best bet would be to become a devout Pastafarian or Bokononist. Mostly out of habit, it is easier for me follow a fake religion than none at all.

What I’m doing with my life

I have a fairly boring job, but it pays the bills. Right now, I'm just hoping that I don't get laid off.

Other than work, I've been trying to find a hobby or something along those lines - something that I actually care about and enjoy doing. In the mean time, I will spend all of my free time on reddit and/or playing WoW.

I’m really good at

Well, I can solve a Rubik's cube in under 5 minutes ... and I rock at Minesweeper. I have no real talents to speak of.

UPDATE: I am now down to under 3-1/2 minutes!
UPDATE #2: I think my cube has been temporarily swallowed up by my couch, so now I'm learning to speak Ido until it resurfaces.
UPDATE #3: Bought a new Rubik's cube, down to 2 mins 48 seconds. Ido will have to wait ...
UPDATE #4: Down to 1:55
UPDATE #5: Down to 1:43 as of August 1, 2009 :D

The first things people usually notice about me

My red (well, reddish) hair.
(I have a hard time calling my hair red, but since everyone else does I figure I'm just being nit-picky.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Foundation (still reading the series), The Zombie Survival Guide, The Tao of Physics, any of the Dragonriders of Pern books

Movies: Hedwig & the Angry Inch, Rocky Horror, High Fidelity, Dark Knight, Annie

Music: Dio, AC/DC, Nine Inch Nails, Everclear, Nirvana, the Offspring (especially their first album), Bob Dylan, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Judas Priest, The Carpenters

Food: almost anything involving cheese, eggs, potatoes, or pasta

The six things I could never do without

*Dairy products - cheese and milk are pretty much my favorite foods
*the internet
*my teddy bear - he's been with me since I moved out on my own
*cheap booze - beer, whiskey, boxed wine, you name it
*warm blankets
*video games - lately WoW and the Sims 3, even though I bought a whole bunch of Valve games (Portal, LfD, CS, etc) and haven't been playing them. :( I really want to learn how to play TF2, but I might actually be too shy.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

dairy products. No lie.

On a typical Friday night I am

staring at the computer playing WoW or Sims 3 while drinking beer... which just so happens to be the same thing I do every other night of the week as well.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm afraid of the dark.

Also, my Dating Persona Test result is more accurate than I'd care to admit.

You should message me if

you want to hang out or chat on AIM. My profile really doesn't do me justice, and I'm sure yours doesn't either, so I prefer to get to know people IRL.

If you can spell and use punctuation, that will greatly increase the chance that I will actually respond. Punctuation is your friend; don't be scared! If you can't spell, any effort will still be appreciated. However, if typing out all three letters of the word "you" is too much for you, then save your energy and don't bother.

If you have a comprehensive survival plan ready for the inevitable zombie apocalypse and are willing to take me under your wing, we must talk. Or if you're willing to teach me how to play Magic the Gathering. I'll give you alcohol ...
