I am mean, whimsical, and a free spirit.

My Self-Summary

Well, I gave up on spyhunting. It is impossible to root out the spies one by one therefore I am going to kill them all at once. Except for 007.

OK, don't be afraid, you are only a stalker here. That is different. Good old stalking is fine as long as you don't step over the line and hurl curse words at me, too.

I started hunting for the bug on my computer as it started to seriously bug me. It seems now I have downloaded some more malware in the process. I started to read other people's posts who seem to have been even more unfortunate with their computers than me with mine. Gosh, what fun it is to read them! Educational, too. It compares to the pleasure of reading some okcupid profiles.

I am interested in computer-unrelated things and activities too. And recently tested right-brain dominant, which surprised me because I always thought my left brain was the more dominant hemisphere.

But it explains a lot! I tend to rely on my intuition a lot, unlike most people in my profession, I guess. I don't fit into categories easily therefore let me keep that a secret for now.

I also have a better than average 6th sense.

I tend to think I am also spontaneous even if okcupid tends to think otherwise. I often surprise even myself. But I like surprises from other people, too. I am also endlessly curious. Also, if you are the blogging type, let me know. I used to be on FastCupid's blog while it was still very active and we formed such a strong if virtual community that we all moved collectively to Facebook. FC has become quite greedy recently and it was always a paying site therefore you couldn't just write to people and ask for their real names. But blogging members revealed so many details about themselves that it was easy in the end to identify the others. Ever since I keep in touch with my great friends and suitors on a daily basis. Both virtual :-)

I am also more adventurous, less money-minded, more opinionated, smarter, more artistic, more scientific, more charitable (or giving) and more bookish than the average person. I always have a good laugh when I compare less scientific than others here. I am the most scientific of all, maybe the test scores are skewed by OKcupid's not quite accurate tests.

OKcupid thinks I am more greedy [wtf?], more independent (probably true, I never like to follow the masses), more romantic (definitely ) and less artistic (what makes okcupid think so, I beg you?). I used to attend the Art Students' League on West 57th Street while living in NYC. It was one of the most fulfilling extracurricular activities for me there. And there is a lot to do in New York. You know that.

I like smart people with zero pretense and some quirks. I have many such friends all over the planet (due to my wandering in the world for 11 years). Hardly any here in Budapest, though. It seems like destiny to me.

I have a sweet disposition and a quick wit (self-deprecation would make me describe that as foot-in-mouth). I traveled and lived around the world. I am broad-minded but focused. You could say, even though my horizon is wide, I look at things with a magnifying glass, one by one :-) (Or should that be a binocular?)

By things I don't mean 'objects' unless they are a piece of art. I am not interested in wealth and find the topic boring (I draw the line at money). I do love art and art museums a lot. I love classical music and feel its soothing and transforming effect at live concerts. I like other genres too, like blues, country, folk and the like. Anything, capable of evoking positive emotions.

You could read my blog at FastCupid here . I recorded several entries since I moved back to Hungary (from the US). Update: Darn FastCupid removed blogs from their site. I don't log in to their site anymore as a punishment. (Public service announcement: if you like this site, never, ever subscribe to Date.com. I made the mistake of becoming a paying member but have not benefited from it any way. I finally managed to leave them after they charged me for another 3 months as they will automatically 'renew' your subscription. Yikes! They suck.

What I’m doing with my life

I have a nice and creative job that lets me travel a lot (of which I can never get enough, it seems). I have traveled to Stockholm in July. Geez, it was hot! I got sunburnt, too. And could not sleep at night as it never gets completely dark up north in the summer. But the Swedes are great and have a wonderful society. Real socialism lives there, not in these f*cked-up post-Communist countries like my own.

One day I would like to write my memoir. Not yet. I am still collecting my memories. I used to paint watercolors but here in Budapest I haven't found my inspiration yet. I need a muse too. And a live model. Would you like to submit an application? (No, don't send any nude pics.)

I’m really good at

Conversations, dancing, socializing, finding lost objects, cooking, grooming.

Laughing at your jokes and making fun of you. I can laugh at myself, too (but don't imply there is ANYTHING ridiculous about me).

(Have you noticed this site doesn't ask for your ideal mate? I wonder if that is by design or accident...) Anyway, by now you might have gotten a picture of me.

The first things people usually notice about me

They notice I am funny if they are within hearing distance. OK, that might be the 2nd thing, not the first. Because at first they apparently will look at my boobs (is not that the correct sequence of observations with you guys? :-)

Also, my figure, when I happen to be in shape. I joined a gym 12 months ago and tend to sweat there a lot when I go. I love their saunas and yesterday I had a massage, too. Boy, do I feel like I was reborn today!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books. The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann; The Molecules of Emotion by Candace Pert; The grass is singing by Doris Lessing; Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam;

I am currently reading The House of Meetings by Martin Amis. The main character is a Russian man, who is a strange mixture of an acute observer and a cynical brute transcended by flickers of humanity. The horrors of the 20th century cleverly squeezed into one thin volume.

Movies. Kill Bill 2, Pulp fiction, Thelma and Louise, The eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. I just watched the Bourne mystery. Boy, what a suspenseful movie, with such a great scenery! I thought to clean my apartment while watching it but didn't move even my chair once. I was totally oblivious to the rest of the world for two hours. A rare feat these days with movies, I must say.

Music: Hungarian Rhapsodies by Franz Liszt, Leonard Cohen, Mozart. (Allegedly even plants like Mozart, tomatoes tend to grow faster and cows give more milk if you play them Mozart.)

Food? I like spicy and flavorful. My favorite ethnic foods used to come from countries with dictatorships. It seems democracies lost their lust for hot/spicy food. Ever noticed the connection?

The six things I could never do without

My cute cat who is as curious as myself, the internet, pearl strings, Perl strings. (That is my nerdy side talking.) My mind (I rarely lose it!)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Life's ups and downs, its seemingly odd turns for limitless opportunities and dark hours when you dig yourself into a pit without much effort.

The simple pleasures in life. The more sophisticated ones. The transforming effects of beauty and tranquility.

The laws of attraction.

My kittens. The one I lost while on a trip to Paris and the grief and guilt I felt afterwards.

What makes us human and other molecular mysteries I'd like to help uncover. The relationship between depression, genius and brain size.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out in town with friends, writing letters to friends, or I am still at work. Typical? I am bored by regular schedules. Or regular people. Show me your quirks, charm, your uniqueness. You don't have to pretend to me you are perfect. Let your hair down (if you have some :-))

I found some interesting answers by other people to this question, like "ALWAYS LYING NAKED ONs, MY BED AND LOOKING UP INTO THE SKY". Man, aren't you lucky! You own a penthouse? (or you are homeless :-))

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

We probably won't be a match if you are mostly looking for long walks on beaches... I like a cruise more :-)

You should message me if

You have a playful side? You are knowledgeable at something?

You liked my profile and curious about me?

Or you tell me. Just please, be interesting!
