My self-summary
"an android with a delayed reaction."

very easily amused. crave hearty rounds of debate and random questions. fiercely loyal to my friends. severely sarcastic. INF/TJ. comfortable practically anywhere - from the ballet to an industrial show to pretty much anything in between. prefer odd numbers - i empathize with them. always happy to fight the good fight. high expectations, low maintenance. bored with diamonds, excited by books. like to lay it all out on the table. would travel the world and go to school for the rest of my life if i won the lottery. vegetarian for 25 years (but i don't care what you eat). deft with a pair of chopsticks. favorite word is 'toast.' next is 'sheep,' then 'moose' (say it three times fast while inhaling. can't not make you smile.). minimalist at heart but materialist in real life. have a standing promise to myself to visit one new foreign country every year. east coast/big city girl who had the misfortune of being born in texas (yes, i had a gun, a semi-automatic 9mm to be exact. no, i did not have a cow or horse. or cowboy boots.). enthusiastically in minneapolis until i can figure out a way to work/live in another country.
What I’m doing with my life
now there's a timely question.

spent a decade as a planner/researcher at large ad agencies across the country. decided for a break that i'd go get another master's degree, this time in clinical counseling. wrapping up 2 years of supervised work as a cognitive-behavioral therapist specializing in anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders at a local hospital program. as of now, i'm either going to somehow combine the two or maybe just go back for one of those sweet library/information sciences degrees.

to get a bit more abstract, my core values are: curiosity, knowledge, diligence, advancement, sincerity, and autonomy.
I’m really good at
acquiring books, anthropomorphizing, parallel parking, punctuality.

not so good at small talk, cooking, keeping up with whatever bands all the cool kids are listening to these days.
The first things people usually notice about me
blue eyes + freckles + pale skin

i'm usually in observation mode, with one leg bouncing restlessly...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: if you saw me in borders (RIP), i'd be perusing the social sciences, philosophy, memoirs, art/photography, world travel guides, asian fiction, and forensics/true crime. just read 1Q84 while in asia last december. wanting to dive into my neuroscience books.

movies: the darker the better - i prefer to be left in a different cognitive/emotional state than the one i started the movie in. foreign, indie, documentary, with a side of pure brain candy from time to time. Holiday must-views are it's a wonderful life and Lars and the real girl. Sweetness in snow...

music: i figure i have plenty of quality music from my formative years and many good musician friends who keep me just clued in enough. the smiths got me through high school. lately, i've been wanting to dive into the world of metal a little more - gojira seems like a good starting point.

food: this may hurt to hear, but i have the refined taste palette of a 7 year old. my comfort zone is small when it comes to food, though i will venture outside it from time to time. i have some rules when it comes to dessert. one, always have it. two, fruit has no place in it.
The six things I could never do without
the fluffs, aka my 2 cats.
internet. so. much. content. so. little. time.
sugar till i die...
annual explorecations.
my grey brain matter.
skyscrapers and aeroplanes.
cameras. (that's right, i broke the rules. 7 things.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the hows and whys behind all the whats people do...can't think of anything better to ponder upon.

still scheming to find a way to live in japan or antarctica.
On a typical Friday night I am
slightly more likely to be at home, decompressing for the week, though i could be out meeting friends for drinks somewhere low-key.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i have some truly excellent conversations...with myself.
