I am ridiculous, silly, and laid back.

My Self-Summary

I tend to be a very positive, look on the bright side kind of person. I can make the best out of any situation. I love to going out to see live shows (music or theater). I also think you can know everything you need to know about a person based on their preference of creamy vs. crunchy peanut butter.

I really enjoy the simple things in life. I'm very fortunate to have some really great people as friends.

I'm laid back, almost to a fault. I tend to see the best side of everyone that I meet, which can get me into trouble at times.

I love it when it rains enough that there is some standing water in the park where I run in the mornings. It makes me happy to see the ducks swim around, which in turn, makes the dogs that hang out there happy because they have something to bark at. I love it when the dogs look like they have a giant smile on their faces.

What I’m doing with my life

I work as a project manager, I help run a theater company, and I just finished a certificate in pastry. My original goal was to become a pastry chef, but now I might go in a different direction with my new skill set.

I tend to like to be busy, but I do make time for my friends and family. I almost always have some sort of baked something on hand.

Twice a year I volunteer to make a ton of salad for the soup kitchen that my church hosts. (I'm Unitarian)

I’m really good at

Turning regular recipes into really awesome vegan desserts.

I also have mad skills when it comes to putting together an awesome mixtape, well, that is, if you like super nerdy music.

I enjoy knitting. I wouldn't exactly say I'm really good at it, but I do love me some scarves

Oh, and I can rock the mic at Karaoke.

The first things people usually notice about me

Most likely something I said. I tend to say things that people aren't expecting would come from me.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love any book by Laurie Notaro or Augusten Burroughs. I liked the Celestine Prophecy and A People's History of the United States. Lately I've been reading a lot of books about chefs, food or food politics. I've been forcing myself to read 1 non food book between them.

I have a firm no trilogy policy. (This also includes movies with 2 sequels)
Having said that, I will pretty much watch any movie. I tend to enjoy movies that have zombies in them. I love almost all of the Coen brother movies. I watch the movie Elf a little too often for a grown up around the holidays. I'm super excited that there might be an Arrested Development movie coming out.

I think music is best live. Electric Six is one of my favorite bands right now. I enjoy folk music and some indie rock. Modest Mouse is on my playlist pretty often. I love a song that tells a good story. Old School country and bluegrass have become a new favorite. I love Ani Difranco, Over the Rhine, The Rolling Stones, and M. Ward. I just really enjoy discovering new music. My dad used to be a morning DJ on the oldies station back home, so I am a sucker for oldies.

I am vegetarian, but don't judge people who get down on some bacon. It seems as if I can never get enough Indian food. I love trying new foods and new places to eat. I am much more at home at a dive than a white linen kind of place.

The six things I could never do without

I don't think I can think of 6 things, but I would say my cat, my friends, new recipes, and my computer.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What to do now that I'm finished with Pastry School.

I'm also super into social action/social justice.

On a typical Friday night I am

Working back stage on a play, out with friends, or home doing laundry. I tend not to have a typical Friday night.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy.

You should message me if

You like to have fun and want to meet someone you can have a little adventure with.

Or you have an awesome show you can tell me to go see.

Or you think you might be funnier than I am and would like to challenge me to a throw down. (Please make it something good like a 90's novelty rap dance off)
