My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an East Coast transplant (Boston, by way of D.C./Atlanta) enjoying my life in Los Angeles, though many days it is still surreal to live here! (The weather is just shockingly nice. All the time!) Like everyone in Los Angeles, I am writing a novel. (OK, so most people are writing a screenplay, but same difference) Currently I am querying agents and things are looking fairly sunny.

I would call myself a nerd, though I'm probably closer to "lady nerd lite" -- I love Harry Potter/YA, geeky TV (Doctor Who/Torchwood/BSG, etc.) and can enthuse at length on these topics (I am well-versed in fandom). But I've never seen Star Trek, don't read comic books or play video games (much), haven't engaged in cosplay or attended Comic Con (though I've been to Dragon*Con), so I'm hardly typical. If you're nerdy, that's totally up my street -- if you're nerdy and have robust social skills? Even better! BUT, I wasn't cool in high school, so that counts, right? :)

These self-summary things are so hard, but suffice to say -- I'm a happy, creative person with a lot of interests, who is hoping to find someone with whom to share/spend time with. I watch far too much TV (but, in a good way... right?), and when I'm not watching TV, I tear through books or enjoy the city with friends (hiking, running, beach days, Disneyland, etc). I'm a bit of a homebody, so the bar/club scene has never really been for me. I'm active and go out and enjoy things, but my ideal evening is a night in with good company, watching a movie, TV, playing a video or board game or just chatting.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in international television marketing, but my end-goal is to be a full time novelist. I recently finished my first novel, a YA sci-fi project, polished it, and have had some interest from agents. I'm working on my second novel, which involves superheroes (and villains!). I love books, am mildly shocked that I actually wrote one, and while writing full-time is far easier said than done, I am going at it full-tilt.

When I'm not watching TV/writing/reading, I go to Slimmons three times a week, which means I do jazz aerobics with THE Richard Simmons, and, yes, it's very odd. I have stories...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Marathoning TV shows.
Enthusing at length about whatever I am into at the moment.
Recalling obscure details/actor/creative info about pop culture/British film & tv.
Liking whatever song that gets zero points at Eurovison.
Not cooking, even though I really like cooking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

Books -- The Dresden Files, Thursday Next (anything Jasper Fforde), Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice, The Hunger Games trilogy, The Millennium trilogy (Stieg Larrson), Never Let Me Go, John le Carre, Libba Bray, Beth Revis, Connie Willis, Alex Dryden, British/Soviet/American spycraft non-fiction, humor memoirs (ie: Kathy Griffin), etc. I read a lot. I <3 my Kindle (but still spend obscene amounts of money on real books).

TV -- Happy Endings, Fringe, The Killing, The Vampire Diaries, Archer, Community, Parks and Recreation, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sherlock, Hart of Dixie, Lost, Mad Men, Battlestar Galactica, Bones, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Ashes to Ashes, Merlin, Alias, Black Books, Spaced, Veronica Mars, Buffy (really, just a TON of TV. If it's on Hulu Plus I will probably watch it)

Film -- Amadeus, Magnolia, Inception, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, National Treasure (lol), Elizabeth, Bollywood (Jhoom Barabar Jhoom!), Eurotrip, Music & Lyrics, Love Me If You Dare, Baby Boom, Head On/Napola/Sommersturm (yay German cinema), Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Sense & Sensibility, I Robot, etc. etc... I like a wide variety :)

Music -- European synthpop is my bread and butter. Little Boots, Marina and the Diamonds, Royksopp, Robyn, Eurovision, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Wynter Gordon, Alphabeat, Sia, Lily Allen, Girls Aloud, Fiona Apple, Mozart, Beethoven, Britten, Bootie mash-ups + lots of musicals, film scores & general popular music.

Food -- Indian, Thai (<3), Japanese/Sushi (no raw fish though, so does that count?), traditional British, German, The Counter, COFFEE, Trader Joes is my lifesaver. I'm a pseudo-vegetarian/respectful carnivore -- I don't eat meat that often (usually out, on weekends), and enjoy a lot of vegetarian fare. Dairy, however, is essential, so you will never see me attempt to be vegan (though I've had faboo vegan brownies).

terrible, terrible things that you see on reality TV (Bachelorette, Toddlers & Tiaras, etc.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I usually use Friday nights to unwind from the work week -- I catch up on TV (I <3 Hulu Plus), talk with friends, read, write, etc. When I can convince my friends to do dinner & a movie, it's awesome -- but for some reason my friends never want to go to the cinema on a Friday :(

I am more fun on Saturdays, I promise.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I misspell the word occasionally.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're looking for someone independent, intellectual, positive and bubbly. You like a woman who acts her age (no party girl here), uses her brain and knows who she is and likes herself. You know who you are and like yourself, too!

You're a bit nerdy. You blog. You can spell/use proper grammar. You listen any of the music I listed. Eh, I'm flexible. There's a lot here. If you connected with any of it, please message!
