My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Inspiring words to live by:

"If you start doing the things that you love and you start sharing the things that you love, sooner or later people start hiring you to do the things that you love... for your passion, for your vision, for what makes you unique.. and because you're the only person that can do whatever that thing is... because you love it so much."

Hey, I'm Neil. I'm a good guy... I see life with a philosopher's perspective... but I can get caught up in the anxiety of life just like anyone else.

I live my life with a few simple truisms always in mind:

1) Nothing is strictly black or white... I see the world in many shades of grey, with each situation requiring careful consideration. My answer to almost any question is "It depends."

2) Happiness is more important than money... though, often, it can be hard to tell the difference.

3) Everything in life is a trade-off... I simply cannot have EVERYTHING I want and what I want always has a price.

4) What I think I want or need is not always what I actually want or need.

I was that guy in high school who was always super serious about everything... then I grew up and now I love to laugh! I love sarcasm... I love challenging people's ideas of etiquette and social mores by taking a mildly serious comment and blowing it way out of proportion to show just how silly it really is to be concerned with that. I love messing with words so one statement can be interpreted in different ways, usually with a sexual undertone.

I'm pretty passionate about photography, classical music, tea, and developing creative ideas. I love spending time with passionate, open minded people.

I don't get out too much, though I do love movies, funky jazz bars and taverns, book stores, concerts, walking around with friends, board game nights, parks, and generally whatever...

I'm not a born athlete, but I do enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking with my camera, etc. I want a boyfriend who drags me along on hikes or to the gym so our hanging out time could also be fun exercise time. I have recently arranged my life so that I'm in the gym at least 3 or 4 times per week.

If any of this resonates with you, get in touch.

I am a dreamer, deep thinker, and artist
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have my own business so I work a lot... it's hard to call it work since I spend all day, every day doing exactly what I would choose to do AFTER coming home from work at some corporate job. :)

Do what you love for a living and you'll never work a day in your life.

I run a commercial photography studio and teach all kinds of photography classes. I've recently gotten involved in filmmaking as a cinematographer, producer, director and editor, depending on what is needed... I'm also a partner in a gourmet tea company.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
a bunch of stuff... photography, teaching, writing, reading, rambling, eating, making tea, playing with dogs... :)
The first things people usually notice about me

I've been told I have a great butt. :-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I mostly read hard Sci-Fi... stuff with real science and technology... none of that warlock magic crap. ;-)

I love movies with great actors, great stories, great music, great visuals, great ideas...

Classical, jazz, indie, electronic, and more... I love when friends give me new music to listen to. Music with a good beat makes me want to move. :)

I love healthy food, cheese and crackers, sushi, asian, thai, japanese, Dim Sum, chocolate (dark only) and of course... tea.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Aside from the basic things like food, water, shelter, etc...

1 - Human contact

2 - Humor

3 - Sunlight

4 - Creative outlets

5 - Friends who challenge me to grow

6 - Family who encourage and support me in my endeavors
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
communication styles and why I feel misunderstood often... the world's many shades of grey... when I have conflicts with people I think about my part in it... creative projects

I've had a few relationships and I've spent a lot of time thinking about what's really important in a partner.

There's no room below to write what I'm looking for so here goes: l I guess I look for a balance of maturity and fun, easy going personality... monogamy is a huge factor for me so I don't usually bother exploring feelings with a guy who doesn't already have that in mind for himself. Physical chemistry is always the trickiest part, it seems. I'm usually attracted to athletic or muscular guys who are a little taller than me... but I'm not the most athletic guy, myself, so I would really love to find a guy who enjoys helping me be more fit by bringing me along for the ride. Chemistry is kinda mysterious so It's not really all about the muscle and I've found myself falling for guys who aren't really "my type." I try not to rule anyone out until we've actually met and spent a little time together.

Besides the physical attraction, I'm looking for someone who understands that I am an entrepreneur and I love my work. I don't think of my work as a job that pays for my playtime... my work as a photographer, teacher, filmmaker, artist... these are the things that bring me fulfillment and happiness. Of course, I ALSO want to balance that with a fulfilling relationship... I want to get married someday and maybe have a family... but I want to be clear up front, I won't be giving up my passions in exchange.

I'm also pretty sensitive about the mutual give and take sort of thing... I don't want to feel like I'm pursuing a guy and struggling to keep him interested. That feels very one-sided. I've had a couple very nice guys just fade away because they didn't seem to make any effort to keep in touch with me and it seemed it was always up to me to call or text. I expect my guy to show just as much interest in getting to know me as I have interest in him.

So yea... that probably seems like a tall order. LOL Especially in the gay community... but I'm the kinda guy that values quality higher than quantity. When I find a guy I'm really interested in, I will work hard to make something stick long term as long as the effort is mutual. I've always felt anything worth having is worth fighting for. I'm extremely loyal and if I fall in love, I'm yours for life.

:) Hope that wasn't too much info.

You actually want to spend time getting to know each other in the real world. I don't have a lot of patience for the long drawn out "online friendship" thing... if you think I'm interesting and/or attractive, let's meet up for coffee... Let's be analogue friends! :-)
