My self-summary
Grew up in a sleepy town on the California coast, moved to the bay for college, and never looked back. I take my life pursuits seriously but leave enough room to goof off with my friends.

I like to surround myself around active, smart, cool, and unpretentious people.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a public school teacher in SF Unified. I specialize in working with youth with special needs. Been doing it for seven years already and will likely stay in the field of education in one form or another.

I'm also a dedicated activist. I fight for a better public school system in San Francisco and California. I'm also very involved in my union trying to get the labor movement and teachers to take up various social justice issues such as anti-racism, gentrification, ecological sustainability, and immigrants rights. Politics is a big part of my life but I don't whine, I organize :)

I do everything I can do get out of the country each year. Love hanging out with locals and really getting a sense of life of a town or city. My recent trips have been to Jamaica, Mexico, and the UK.

I also enjoy reading, watching the occasional football game, cooking with friends, hiking, and getting on my bike.

I recently started publishing some articles on public education and labor issues and want to continue to step up my writing game.
I’m really good at
I'm a people person. I give and get respect from nearly everybody.
The first things people usually notice about me
1. My family has blessed me with a head of distinguished gray hair at a relatively young age.
2. I'm confident and straight-forward, so folks continually think I'm from the East Coast.
