My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
This is actually my second okcupid account. I decided to make a new one because my last user name was so terrible. So, the lesson is that names that are good for online video games are not necessarily good for social networking sites.

I'm a recent college graduate who just started his first "real" job. I work with computers and although my work is very interesting it tends to be of a technical nature that doesn't lend itself well to writing about. But I do have a number of hobbies, such as reading, creating paperclip armies, the thrilling field of economics, and chess to name a few. Recently I've decided to try my hand at cooking, but that's still a work in progress.

I'm also kind of an anime fan, but not so much anymore. Still, I've seen all of the really popular series and can hold my own in a nerd fight about most esoteric subjects. Really, I can hold my own in just about any nerdfight, which I'm pretty proud of. I probably can't answer most questions about silver age comics, but golden age is fair game.

I'd really like to get married some day and live all happily ever after, but it's not the kind of thing I'm expecting to happen overnight.

I am bored, manticore, and facetious
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Acclimating to a new job and learning how to cook. I'm looking forward to doing a bit of traveling probably around the start of next year, but I'm not really sure where to. Also, I watch tv a bit.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Well, I used to be pretty good at chess, but I haven't played that much lately. I've got a good hand with computers and most things electronic, but I don't do printer tech support. The last time I tried there was a minor fire, but it's all a learning experience right?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm riding a giant robot destroying their town! Nah, I'm just kidding, I don't actually have a giant robot, it's only about 4 feet tall.

Probably my glasses, I don't think I've ever asked.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

books: Candide, Atlas Shrugged, Romance of Three Kingdoms, Sword of Truth, Song of Fire and Ice, Harry Potter, Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Rings, the Sherlock Holmes series, Mark, War and Peace (actually that was incredibly boring)

movies: Night of the Living Dead (original), V for Vendetta, the Shawshank Redemption, the Godfather, Yojimbo et al.

music: I like a lot of music, but I mostly listen to an indie sort of genre called nerdcore. My favorite band is probably the OneUps, although I like a lot of classic rock.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Bed, Computer, Bible, Cellphone, Car, & Wristwatch. I recently lost my wristwatch.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
IBM DB2 integration and Zend core for i, but off the clock I do a lot of miscellaneous daydreaming. Nothing in particular.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
...a ghost. Nah, I'm actually still alive.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm colorblind, but only a little.

...you are not busy saving children from a burning building. Obviously that takes priority.
