My self-summary
Ok, me in a nutshell... Here we go!
Recovering cheerleader. As such, I still like pretty much anything to do with cheering, and will watch the majority of a cheer/dance competition when I catch one on ESPN or whatnot. Hopelessly sarcastic. Full on nerd. Complete goofball.

I like to have fun, a lot. Though, I don't understand why everyone over the age of 21 seems to think alcohol has to be included in the equation in order for fun to be had. That being said, I rarely drink & I won't tolerate someone who has to drink large amounts of alcohol on a regular basis and absolutely NO smoking, EVER, of any kind.

I love to travel, when my finances allow it.

I love to sing & dance, & would really like someone willing to be my dance partner. I don't particularly like going dancing alone. I also prefer going to places where you have to dress up, so I can dust off my horribly-impractical-for-work heels & cut loose. That being said, I'm a bit of a sucker for guys I still have to look up to see their eyes when I've got on a pair of 4" heels.

I like being outside. Especially when I have someone to keep me company.

I love going to concerts, especially free ones. Which works out well around my birthday, MixFest anyone? I love going to shows, and kinda miss being in either them out the orchestra pit.

Lastly, I have a fondness for grammar, & a bad habit of correcting people's mistakes.
What I’m doing with my life
I work full-time at a job I love at least 75% of the time and am working on my MA part-time in my "spare time" of which I don't really have that much. :-P
I’m really good at
A lot of things...

Want some specific examples? Ask. Just please, for the love of all that is good and right with the world, please check your spelling and grammar before sending me any messages (Non-native English speakers? You get a pass. Native English speakers? There's no excuse for poor sentence structure and mis-spelled words when everything has spell-check these days). Sounds harsh, but for a brief period of time, I was a teacher. Think of it this way... if I can't read/understand your message, you just failed your assignment. As such, I will probably just delete your message rather than trying to figure out what it was you were trying to say.
The first things people usually notice about me
.... I don't smile all that often? I'm really pale? I make a lot of sarcastic remarks? I don't know, you tell me. I'm really bad at sugar-coating things? That being said, if you have tender sensibilities and can't handle the sometimes brutal truth, well, then I am not the droid you are looking for.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
How 'bout favorite authors instead? mostly I read Nora Roberts, Julie Garwood, I also like the Lincoln/Child books (esp. the ones w/ Agent Pendergast), Keri Arthur, and Darynda Jones

Movies: The Ugly Truth, Most things Marvel/Disney, Transformers (1 & 2), Newsies, Step Up (1 and 2), 27 Dresses, She's the Man, What's Your Number...

Music: I'm special when it comes to music. I like Linkin Park, Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, P!nk, and Eminem, as well as The Dixie Chicks, Carrie Underwood, Backstreet Boys, Cascada, Phantom of the Opera, Celtic Thunder, Abba, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Sarah Bareillis... I think the list of what I don't like would be shorter than the list of what I do.

Food: cold meatloaf, cheeseburgers, steak, french fries, mashed potatoes, brownies, acorn squash, corned beef

TV: Bones, The Lying Game, Castle, Once Upon a Time, White Collar, Doctor Who (the reboot, tho I'm certainly no Whoovian) and the occasional cheesy "made-for-tv" movies that the Disney Channel, ABC Family, and Lifetime put out. But I don't have cable, so most of my tv watching is done either online or via Netflix.
The six things I could never do without
I can think of several things, but some of the ones that'd probably make me crankiest if I had to give up would be:
Music
Good friends
Good food (incl a way to keep it from spoiling and the necessary bits to fix the food- microwave, oven, stove, etc.)
Internet- & a way to access it
Indoor plumbing
My car
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to get everything I want out of life.

Money- how to get more of it and more out of it, when I'll finally be debt-free, how to get debt-free faster...
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably working late, coming home, fixing dinner and vegging out w/ my roommate, a movie, or a good book. Though I certainly wouldn't mind going out after work, if I had good reason to.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I always wanted to be a Ginger. I always felt I got jipped on the traditional Irish looks... red hair, freckles... got the really pale skin, but that's it. Some of my cousins though have that AND the red hair and freckles... so jealous.

And I can see part of the Boston skyline from my apartment.
I’m looking for
  • Straight guys only
  • Ages 27–32
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You're looking for something more than just a random hook up, you're up for a challenge, you like to travel, won't lie to me about anything (important or trivial)... I don't like being lied to, you like dogs more than cats, and you're willing to try new things.

Also? Comments/compliments based solely on my looks kinda weird me out because I'm not used to receiving them, so if you really want me to respond, get creative.
