I'm 24, live in Raleigh, and work full time. The basics. I don't really stand out and that's fine.
Buttttt I'm pretty god damn quirky. I have a lot of random interests that don't fall into a single category. For example, I am beyond obsessed with the Titanic. Not the movie (though I love it - Leoooooo) but the actual Titanic. Who the hell has 3 Titanic books on their coffee table? Moi. I love having a zillion facets of myself that I can throw out there for the world to see, and I love learning about them in other people. Another example: the other day I read Sylvia Plath's poetry while watching Bob's Burgers.
I love art, music, history, and enjoy learning random facts about the world.
Some other random obsessions: The concept of time, feminism, The British Royal Family (namely Princess Diana), the Romanov Family, peach tea (omg, so delicious), the empty frames at the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum from the art heist in 1990, inspirational (not cheesy) quotes, JFK and his assassination, and social phenomenons of sorts. Oh, and I can't get past how amazing Michael Jackson was as a vocalist and performer.
I think the most important thing someone should know about me is that I want to see the world. When I was about 4 or 5, my parents bought me a book about all the countries in the world. I was obsessed with this book and became fixated on the idea of traveling and seeing the world. I love studying different cultures and their histories. I particularly fixated on Norway. I went to England and Italy in January. It was my first time in Europe and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. My next trip is Norway, probably happening summer 2015.
Traveling is going to be my main priority in the next few years. I'm not really interested in getting married or having kids any time soon. Those things will come eventually.
I am scared of spiders. Not in a "oh they're gross way," but in a "I am scared shitless, have been in therapy for it, and will have a full scale meltdown if I see a tarantula" kind of way.
I love Harry Potter. It means a lot to me in a lot of sentimental ways. Ron and Hermione 4ever. Still get emotional when I think of Snape in the 7th book. Dobby is a free elf. I wear a Deathy Hallows necklace all the time.
I hate vinegar. It's gross.
I read quite a bit.
My nose is pierced and I can't imagine not having it pierced. When I got it done at 18, I thought I'd just keep it for a few years. 6 years later and I'm always going to have it. Even at 75 years old.
I have one small tattoo on my foot, and I want about a zillion more.
I'm SORT of nerdy? Probably not. I don't really like when people define themselves based on their interests. If I HAD to choose a category...I guess I'm nerdy? I don't know. You tell me. I'm a sociable nerd.
I'm fascinated by true crime. I know most everything about most serial killers. I watch a lot of true crime shows. The channel "Investigation Discovery" was basically made for me. I don't have cable though, because I thought if I had access to that channel full time, I'd get nothing done.
I'm a work in progress, always.
I'm half Italian and half Cuban. I'm also an Aries. I kind of don't have a choice but to be fiery.
I'm an ESFP if you're into that sort of thing.
Das me. I'm sure there's more, but this is a pretty good peak into my somewhat conventional yet somewhat weird life.
