My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Originally from Cleveland, I've been in New York for 7 years and still bring my Midwestern sensibilities to New York by saying hi to strangers and holding doors for others.

Also I ran my first marathon last spring which was both the best and worst decision of my life.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently educating the youth of America but I am no longer in the classroom. Instead, I lead a charter high school in Harlem. I never though that I would end up as a principal at a high school in New York City but I've learned that life often takes turns and dips to places you might never have imagined.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Watching entire seasons of TV shows in one sitting.

Scrabble and crosswords.

Playing any and all Zelda games for Nintendo.

Reading books in one sitting.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
A colleague of mine created a #greatbangs hashtag with me in mind. I'll take it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I have a pretty healthy imagination, probably a by-product of a lot of reading done as a child. Some of my favorite authors include George RR Martin, Neil Gaiman, Murakami, Lev Gossman, CS Lewis, Edith Warton, and Jane Austen. I also have a weak spot for young adult post-apocalyptic and urban fantasy fiction. I have always like Cold War spy novels and non-fiction related to social history of the period. I think it's because I've always wanted to be a spy.

Or a pirate.

Oh, and Lord of the Rings is the only book that has ever made me cry.

My top five movies: The Empire Strikes Back, Jurassic Park, Pride and Prejudice, Top Gun, WALL-E. If you have never seen Star Wars (how is this possible?) I'd be happy to introduce you to the greatest trilogy ever made. We can skip the prequels.

Music varies but if I were to characterize myself I listen to mostly indie rock and pop. And musicals. I love Broadway musicals.

UPDATE: I JUST FINISHED THE ENTIRE WEST WING SERIES! Life complete. CJ Cregg is my spirit animal.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A good book, red wine, my running shoes, a watch, Chanel No. 5 and a manicure.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why can't I just apparate. It would make life so much easier.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Running a school is exhausting. Friday night is usually a glass of wine and bed.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I waited 3 hours to get my Dance With Dragons book signed by George R. R. Martin. And I won a Star Wars trivia contest once. So basically I'm a big nerd.

Can you make me laugh? Impress me with your unassuming intelligence and wittiness? Find my geeky interests endearing? Also if you can play euchre, like wine and/or whiskey, we'll hit it off fine.

And is ok with the fact I am a Cleveland sports fan. Pity me. Or congratulate me on The Return after The Fumble, The Drive, the Shot, The Move, and The Decision. Your pick.
