My self-summary
I am a thinker, a fixer, an engineer to the core, always interested in figuring out how things work. I prefer bow-ties over ties. I ride motorcycles, drive a stick, ski, and love the winter. I am a surprisingly good athlete and dancer, a lover of unconventional sports. I am very open minded and a believer in people of all types. I am a funny motherfucker and a great listener. I am all this and so much more!
What I’m doing with my life
I am a electrical engineer a company that makes hall-effect sensor company. I find it interesting that 99% of people have no idea what my company makes even though they probably use them everyday. I passionate about my job but really see it as a stepping stone to greater things. I really like engineering and electronics but I try not to talk about it too much unless I am asked because some people are not very interested in these topics.

For fun I have a number of hobbies which I am constantly juggling but I somehow I manage to fit everything in. These include brewing beer, kickball, disc golf, softball, skiing, cooking, and dancing. I am currently trying to lean the guitar and make time to read more. I also really enjoy photography but have not have much of a chance to take pictures lately which needs to be remedied!
I’m really good at
Skiing sometimes feels more natural to me than walking; I will not say I am the best ever or anything, just that I am fairly good at it and it makes me happy when I am doing it.

I love cooking! I have a lot of the basic skills and knowledge down and I have fairly good knife skills. I am always down to collaborate with a seasoned vet or give some tips to a interested novice. I also like to bake and have been doing so since I was about 13. I try to make most everything from scratch because I think it is better for you and taste better too! This includes making classic drinks. This just builds off of the basic baking and strong nerd researching skills. There is a set of knowledge that is important to understand when making a drink like a Mojito or a Manhattan that will put it that much above the rest.

I am really good at being passionate about and introducing people to new things. Typically finding a new beer you will enjoy or getting you to try scotch. Sometimes food or just new experiences in general. I am very open minded to other peoples tastes and understand that you may not like it but that is not reason to not try it in the first place! I also am very willing for this mindset to be turned back on me and love it when people introduce me to their passions.

I am a good dancer. I do not know if I would say really good but you will probably be surprised. I know a little swing and salsa but I want to learn more. I can also get down to your typical bar and club music. I really like going to bars like The Lansdowne when they have a good live band playing like BEARFIGHT or Downtown Fever.

Learning! I am an information sponge and will talk to you about almost anything. I like to dabble in a lot of topics and there are a few that I delve very deeply into. I try to be very truthful with what I do not know in an effort to learn more about the topic of discussion rather than impress people. I wish I had the time and money to be an expert at so many more things but that will come with time.

I think I am a good engineer but I will not get into that too much!

Some people say I have an awesome laugh and when they see me after a long absence that they missed hearing my laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hands down my height (yes, I'm actually 6'3") and my beard.

Probably also my general "holy fuck! that is a big scary man!" size however I do not typically get comments on that; I think it has to do with my personality opposing this idea!

I also have a loud laugh so you may hear me before you see me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A smattering of my favorites to give you the general idea:

Douglas Adams, Charles Bukowski, Kurt Vonnegut, Neil Stephenson, Game of Thrones

Planet of the Apes, Amélie, Grandma's Boy, Iron Man, The Professional, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Fifth Element

Archer, New Girl, Defiance, Firefly, Adventure Time, Frasier

Johny Cash, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Notorious BIG, Brother Ali, Zox, Matt and Kim

Food, just all of the amazing, delicious foods!
The six things I could never do without
chapstick (all year long)
music (live if possible)
alcohol (beer, whiskey, single malt scotch)
sharp knives (for cooking)
snow (skiing)
new things (people to meet, places to go, food to try, things to learn)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think a lot about the world and the way it works;
science, electronics, and engineering;
making things and fixing things;
alcohol, beer, and how they are made;
which beers and drinks I like and which ones I want to try;
food, mainly what is for dinner;
what do I want to challenge myself to cook next;
what restaurant I need to try;
society and where and how I fit into it;
feminism and what it means to me and the people around me;
dating, women, and men, and why we act they ways we do;
the mistakes I have made and what I can do to not repeat them;
intelligent things I have done and how to keep down that path;
and always, always, always about what is coming next.
On a typical Friday night I am
I always look for fun no matter what I am out doing. I am a very friendly person so I tend to meet a lot of new people when I go out. I like to go dancing. A little swing or salsa as well as just fun bar dancing.

I might also be out for a night on the town drinking craft beer and cocktails discussing a myriad of topics. Let's be honest, these nights usually evolve into dance nights too!

I also like parties of all shapes and sizes because they are a great way to meet new people without the pressure of the bar scene and let's be honest, cheap drinks!

There are also nights where I just want to stay in and cook an epic dinner then read a book, play some games, or watch some movies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am a strong believer in the Golden Rule and I wish everyone would stay out of everyone else's business! If it doesn't effect me directly you can do whatever the fuck you want. Just be nice to other people please!

Also, I was starting to lose a rather scary amount of hair (curse you genetics!) so I decided that after shaving my head for Halloween I would keep it shaved. It is typically somewhere in length between bald and slightly fuzzy.
You should message me if
Think you can handle it! I love meeting new people!
