My self-summary
I'm a pretty average guy, going to college. I'm looking for someone special, but starting out as friends is probably a good idea. I'm pretty independent, so if you need someone by your side 24/7, I'm probably not your type. If you find we have something in common that we could talk about, send me a message.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an engineering student for the time being. Don't be afraid to ask... anything
I’m really good at
Random things. I like pool a lot; I'm pretty good at that. I like listening- I'm rather quiet (actions speak louder than words, right?) I'm pretty good with math and sciences, (major: Mechanical Engineering) but that's probably not very relevant haha.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm honestly not sure. My odd/nerdy sense of humor maybe, or my curly brown hair when I don't have it trimmed short.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love music and movies. Some of my top movies are: The Boondock Saints, Avatar, The Matrix, and Tommy Boy, The Big Lebowski, Inception, and Good Will Hunting. Actors whom I really like are Harrison Ford, Jeff Bridges, Sean Connery, Chris Farley, Will Farrell, and Owen Wilson movies. The classic 80s movies like Ghost Busters, The Blues Brothers, and Indiana Jones (all three- the fourth one shouldn't be included :P ) are always good, too.
Kung-fu movies are fun to watch and relax to. Some are actually great movies, with killer stories (like Fearless or Ip Man)
Also I don't mind sitting through a romantic comedy or Disney movie now and then, though I probably wouldn't pick one of those out myself. (Okay, I might pick a Disney one).
I generally trust Rotten Tomatoes with my movie choices, but whatever is saved on my hard drive or available on Netflix often influences my decisions.

My favorite bands (there's too many to list but here are a few) : The Beatles, Boston, Breaking Benjamin, Jack Johnson, Newton Faulkner, Avenged Sevenfold, Rise Against, Yellowcard, Muse, Kenny Chesney, Linkin Park, The Foo Fighters, Metric, The Decemberists, Hey Monday, Modest Mouse and other indie bands.
Lately I've been listening to more Train, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Taking Back Sunday, and Dashboard Confessional.
I love acoustic music, and almost anything with violin (like Yellowcard). I spend a little time on Internet radio sites like Pandora, Last.fm, or Grooveshark, but I really like 8tracks and Soundcloud. I love to turn on some piano or string quartet covers of songs, to have in the background while I work or do something that requires most of my attention. Movie scores are also great for that- Hans Zimmer (composer for Inception and the Dark Knight trilogy) is one of my favorites, as is Howard Shore.
I love concerts (mostly rock and country), and have made a few fun road trips to see some rock shows.

If you have similar taste in music or movies, that's a huge bonus in my book. If you like any of my favs and similar stuff, i love swapping song/ artist recommendations so send me a message. I justlove discovering and sharing new music with friends (and I'm the same way with varieties of beer- I thou roughly enjoy the taste of most beers).

My favorite book series are the Otherland series by Tad Williams (SciFi), the Alex Cross thriller series by James Patterson, and the His Dark Materials series by Phillip Pullman. I like to read just about anything, though. I just picked up Ender's Game and loved it. Also (and I know it sounds way cheesey), How to Win Friends and Influence People is full of great ideas on how to live and successfully deal with difficult people (and perhaps not be so difficult yourself :p ).
The six things I could never do without
My family
friends
A sense of purpose
Music (and a functioning mp3 player)
the Internet (I waste entirely too much time on it, but I like to think it keeps me sane)
Time alone (often reading, exercising, or in the sauna)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot of things: life in general, replaying scenarios in my head where I should have acted differently, how mechanical things work/ why mechanical things break, trying to remember who sings that song that I can't get out of my head...
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with my friends or roommates, nothing special. They're pretty crazy though, and it makes me feel sane :P
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I do play video games from time to time- a couple times a week.

And I'm not a great swimmer, though I love to waterski, kneeboard, and wakeboard, and go tubing.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–25
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you are interested in getting to know each other more than reading a profile... or if you have any questions, about anything.
