My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like coffee and sailing, and there's few places that I would not travel to. I'm also great at forgetting the punch line to a joke and losing my car keys, but I usually find both things. I love spinning and have recently decided to take my love for it off of a stationary bike and onto the real time road and am quickly learning that I can not close my eyes when biking outside of the studio. I enjoy arrested development and humanitarian aid.

Single mom to an angsty chihuahua.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently finished my thesis which explored the long term repercussions of the herbicidal warfare used during the Vietnam war focusing on advocacy for those still affected. I work for a not for profit as a program director and plan and lead international humanitarian relief trips and work as a free lance consultant for international NGO's. I'm mostly in Haiti and we run a mobile clinic in the mountains a few hour drive and few hike from port-au-prince. I spend a lot of time thinking about social justice and how systems can become more equitable, and ultimately how I can contribute to creating that equity. I also think about a lot of other things, like why my dog insists on eating tin foil and plastic bags. I think he has pica. I also think he may have no pain receptors, he regularly falls off the bed and just goes on with his business as if nothing happened.

I am also becoming a spin instructor and spend a lot of my free time binge watching tv shows on Netflix. It's an incredibly productive use of my time. I also enjoy buying hoodies for my chihuahua, Frank. He's kind of into it.

Thanks for visiting my profile I hope you enjoy your stay!

Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Laughing my way out of an awkward situation/joke.
Listening.
Cooking certain things.
Drinking a beer faster than I should.
Turning left when I'm supposed to turn right.
Quoting Arrested Development.
Playing the piano, ukelele, and cello.
Befriending babies.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

I love to read. I will basically read anything, but really enjoy turn of the century German authors (with the exception of Hesse), John Irving, Kurt Vonegut, Stieg Larsen, Barbara Kingslover, Toni Morrison...I'll read anything.

I watch anything Netflix will throw at me as long as there is not too much decapitation. I love Arrested Development and Sherlock Holmes (original series).

I like most all music. Particularly fond of classic rock and folk music, but can listen to, and enjoy, most music.

can watch the Bourne series and the Italian Job over and over, as well as Clue and Monty Python. I make scary movies scarier by being way to jumpy, just knowing I'm watching a scary movie is scary enough for me. I've spent many Friday's in watching gang documentaries on Netflix (they're SO interesting) and love most comedies.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The ocean.
My sisters.
My friends.
Passport.
Hair clip.
Coffee.

Not necessarily in that order.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What did I forget to do/I had to do today? Where are my keys? What do I want to make for dinner? How can I save enough money to leave to country for a while? Where are my keys? Crap, where is my car?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Anywhere between passed out on my couch and dancing until the bouncer kindly insists we leave so they can close the bar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I basically don't know my left from my right. I'm intelligent, I promise, just struggle with directions.
