My self-summary
So... I went to live and work in Japan for three years after graduating college and ended up backpacking through about 10 countries in Asia during that time and, sadly, never found the proper romantic secret commune where I could drop out of life and spend the rest of my days on a beach eating bananas and sleeping on hammocks and foraging for whatsis to sustain myself till I went grey-haired.

I've always been into all sorts of different sports. Baseball, basketball, hockey, ultimate frisbee, soccer, tennis, golf - I love it all. I trained and worked as a tree climber for a year with the hippie side of my family after coming back to the states. Working outdoors is an amazing way to spend your life I think - and I love it even more in winter. Anyways, after doing tree work, I decided I needed to exercise my brain a bit and got into law school in Long Island.

I'm pretty passionate about playing music, but I'm not into "performing," really, because for me it's more of an introspective, meditative thing. I love playing my banjo, guitar, and harmonica at home and (badly) singing (once I am SURE no one is home!)

Aaaaand that's me, first time giving this internet dating thing a go.

A few quick facts:
- I have a fascination with old objects and I like doing a few things the old-fashioned way by slowing it down, expending a little extra effort, and just focusing on the task at hand. I should have been born in another time
- In my ideal world, I would ride my bike everywhere. I hate the fact that I currently need a car to survive
- I LOVE spicy food and cuisines of all kinds. Oh and I love cheese. You CANNOT leave cheese in front of me or else you will lose it all once your head is turned.
- I was once in the newspaper when I was 4-years-old for having a long conversation with a sheep at the local zoo (can't tell you what we talked about)
- If I didn't drift into law school I'd be a nurse - I got EMT certified a few years ago and had to put in a bunch of hours at the local ER. Seeing what I saw and doing what I did, I felt as though nursing would be a good career for me
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, it's law school and working to help poor people get medicaid benefits, not get evicted by crappy landlords, fight utility shut-offs, and other GOOD law type stuff! Yea! Oh and having fun on the weekends and teaching myself golf and also going to frisbee golf tournaments around Westchester.
I’m really good at
-Doing impressions. I do a KILLER impression of Gollum from Lord of the Rings, among others...
-Being a beer snob and a coffee snob and other forms of snobbery. Snobbery's great!
-Being loose-jointed and more flexible than YOU
-Pronouncing different languages
-Cursing like a sailor. I'm trying to remedy that, but it's slow going...
-Juggling
The first things people usually notice about me
Is that I look like someone else they know. I've gotten this all my life, in various countries, and it's usually someone different each time. Just one of those faces I guess...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A Song of Ice and Fire, The Walking Dead, Invincible, The Boys, anything by Bukowski or Richard Yates. I LOVE those guys!

Movies: Not even going there - I like way too many and would leave some dearly beloved films out if I even try to start listing...

Shows: Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Colbert Report, Golf Channel (hell yeah I said Golf Channel).

Music: Lou Reed, the Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Frank Zappa - tons of other stuff like Drum 'n Bass, punk, industrial, classical...

Food: I eat weird stuff. I eat fermented soybeans for breakfast - totally serious.
The six things I could never do without
I can do without a lot of things, actually. I'm a pretty minimalist, low-maintenance individual. I guess a musical instrument, preferably a banjo, is something I need constantly in my life. It helps me relax and focus and blah blah blah. I just discovered shaving with an old style single-blade razor, too, and HATE going back to cartridge razors when I'm traveling and stuff.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My family and my friends and how they're doing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I accidentally brought some pot into the Pentagon during a high school field trip to Washington, D.C. SO SCARY!
