My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm Cody. I'm 23. It's been about two years since I've used this this thing, and to be honest I'm not taking it too seriously right now. Just kinda seeing what's out there. A little bit about me: Right now I pay the bills cooking at a local restaurant in Charlotte. It's nothing amazing, but I work with good people and overall I enjoy it. I spend my free time hanging with friends and family, and playing my guitar. I'm a musician, mainly rooted in guitar, but I can also play the drums, and on occasion I've been known to sing. Music is a huge part of my life. It's gotten me through a lot of serious stuff in the past, and there's a good chance that if I'm not working or sleeping, I'm listening to music. My ultimate dream (and goal, for that matter) is to play in a band that makes it in the music scene. I'm not in it for the money, but to play in front of people who appreciate and enjoy the music I play. Dozens, hundreds, thousands, it doesn't matter. My dream is to take the stage and tear the house down with my guitar on a nightly basis. I'm not gonna say I'm here actively looking for a relationship, because that would be a lie. I will say that I wouldn't mind finding someone on this thing with common interests to talk to, and hopefully build something from there. If you're interested, definitely hit me up. I'll be around.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working. Lots of working. Right now I cook at a local restaurant in Charlotte, and my schedule changes a lot, so most of the time I'm not totally sure when I'll be free. Not to sound cocky, but I like to think I'm good at what I do, and I put my all into my work, whatever it may be. I enjoy my current job, and I'd like to think it reflects in my results. Dreaming, and a lot of it. Dreaming of the perfect future, and how I'm going to get there. Dreaming of how to get from where I am to where I want to be. I'm taking steps to get to a solid point in my life where I'm comfortable enough to say I'm okay with where I am, but I'm not there quite yet. As I said, I'm always working on music. Either writing songs or coming up with licks on the guitar. I'm determined that its going to get me somewhere someday, and even if it doesn't, I'll always have it as a hobby. Other than that, I spend a lot of nights enjoying a good beer, or sometimes even liquor. I like to drink socially with friends and family when I get the chance, too. If you have a problem with social drinking, or I guess drinking in general, I'm probably not a guy you want to hang with.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking. If I get to know you well enough, and get comfortable around you, I tend to not shut up. I've been told I have a sense of humor that most people get. I can make almost anyone laugh. I guess I adjust it based on who I'm around. Listening. I've spent countless hours listening to the problems of friends or family, and offering my input. I've actually found myself in that situation where I'm the guy who can offer anyone advice on anything, but when it comes to fixing my own problems, I'm lost. Guitar. I've been playing for almost 6 years now, and I'm not great, but I know what I'm doing. I need and want lessons, because I know it would make me at least a little better. I've been in two bands, both of which fizzled out, mostly due to life getting in the way, and creative differences. I hope to be in a successful band in the near future, but its kind of on the back burner for now.
The first things people usually notice about me

Not sure, really. It's never been pointed out to me, I guess. I don't exactly see myself as someone who would stand out in a crowd. I'm just your average t-shirt and jeans kinda guy. I'm always wearing band tees, unless I'm dressed for a special occasion, so maybe that's what people notice?

Books: The only books I've ever been REALLY into are the Harry Potter books. I've read them all multiple times, and I guess I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to them. I've been known to drop knowledge and correct people about them from time to time.

TV: First and foremost, The Walking Dead. I love it. It's the only show on TV that I refuse to miss, no matter what. I didn't even get into it until last year, when season one came on Netflix, and a friend recommended it. I was hooked. Watched season two on netflix in literally one 13 1/2 hour sitting, and then watched season three first run on TV. That November to February break killed me, haha. WWE. Yes, I watch wrestling. I have since about 2004, and these days I spend Monday nights watching RAW. It's a well needed break from reality. Other shows I watch regularly: Tosh.0, Family Guy, Key & Peele, King of the Hill, Comic Book Men, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Shark Tank, Teen Mom (sue me, it's interesting) Ridiculousness, Workaholics, Survivor, Jeopardy!, and some other random stuff

Music: I listen to a ton of metal. I also listen to a lot of rock. Pop, indie, rap, all of that stuff to a lesser variety. My taste is pretty broad, but I always find myself coming back to metal. My top 4 favorite bands are Avenged Sevenfold, Asking Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon, and As I Lay Dying. I tried to do a top 5, but no other band comes close to those four in terms of how I connect with the music on a personal and musical level. Ready for a list? These are all the other bands I love: Lamb of God, Bullet For My Valentine, Memphis May Fire, Killswitch Engage, Five Finger Death Punch, Trivium, August Burns Red, Emmure, Attila, Suicide Silence, The Word Alive, Parkway Drive, In Flames, A Day To Remember, Sleeping With Sirens, Sent By Ravens, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Bush, Godsmack, Attack Attack!, Of Mice & Men, and many, many more. My softer side also loves bands like Dave Matthews Band, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, and that sort of thing. Like I said, huge variety.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Music
2. Friends
3. Family
4. Guitar
5. My Jeep
6. A good beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I want to go in life. I'd love to be up onstage with my best friends in the world, with thousands of screaming fans hanging on every chord I play. But I think maybe I'd just settle for sitting around a bonfire on a Saturday night, drinking beer and reminiscing with them. I'd like to find success somewhere in life, but I'm just not completely sure (realistically, at least,) where at yet.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working. Weekends are the busiest time of the week at my job, and so I'm always working Friday and Saturday nights. It puts a damper on my social life, but at the same time it pays for what little social life I do get to have.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm agnostic. I am NOT an atheist. To me, an atheist is someone who goes out of their way to denounce religion. My view is more indifferent. I can see flaws in religion, and I can see the logic behind some beliefs. I'd rather live my life freely than conform to a set of rules that were created based upon the belief of a deity who may not exist.

If you consider a heavy metal concert a better date than a suit-and-tie four star restaurant. If you don't mind flirting with disaster more often than most people would like. If you'd rather sit around a bonfire and goof off for six or seven hours than go out shopping with the girls (not that I mind that.) Just looking for a down to earth girl who doesn't buy in to all the BS that's spreading through the world today.
