My Self-Summary
A girl worth making a Mix CD for. I'm interested in meeting open-minded people, though the same interests would help. After establishing my job I'd like to meet someone and develop a serious relationship. Always looking for more people to hang out with. I'd like to meet people with larger CD collections than myself. Always looking for people to go out and catch a good show. If any of this sounds appealing, then we should get to know each other better.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
I do play a variety of instruments and I enjoy singing though my voice is far from the best. I'm usually pretty good at making people laugh with absurd comments.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Here are the last couple I read: Prozac Nation, Everything You Know Is Wrong, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Mailman, The Fuck-Up, Naked Lunch, and I'm currently reading Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman as well as The Bell Jar by Syvia Plath.
Movies: Amelie, He Loves Me He Loves Me Not, Down With Love, 40 Year Old Virgin, Batman Begins, Sin City, City of God, Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs, Momento, Taxi Driver, Mallrats, Star Wars (geeky I know), the Indian Jones trilogy, any of John Cusacks movies, anything Monty Python, Seven, Magnolia, Bottle Rocket, Steve Zissou and The Life Aquatic, The Royal Tennenbaums, Fight Club, Big Fish, Mystic River, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and several others. Just ask!
Music: First and foremost The Clash, Afghan Whigs, Wilco, Apples In Stereo, The Smiths, Morrissey, Black Flag, Bright Eyes, Cursive, Thursday, Devandra Banhart, My Morning Jacket, The Replacements, Sonic Youth, The Pixies, Guided By Voices, Paul Westerberg, The Jam, Paul Weller, Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros, Pavement, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Black Sabbath, Big Star, Cheap Trick, Velvet Underground, The Modern Lovers, Lou Reed, Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Mojave 3, Oasis, The Beatles, Muse, The Cure, Sleater-Kinney, Quasi, Enon, Polvo, The Shins, Tom Waits, Devandra Banhart, Elliott Smith, Death Cab For Cutie, Steve Earle, The Flaming Lips, Husker Du, Sugar, The Minutemen, Gram Parson, The Flying Burrito Brothers, XTC, The Talking Heads, Belle and Sebastian, Serge Gainsbourg, Magnetic Fields, Gang of Four, Sigur Ros, Mixel Pixel, The Who, John Cale, Black Flag, Alex Chilton, Yo La Tengo, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, The Rapture, New Pornographers, Of Montreal, Black Mountain, 764-Hero, The National, Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffitti, Animal Collective, Grateful Dead (go ahead and judge me), Spiritualized, Spacemen 3, Galaxie 500, Boy Least Likely To, I know that I'm forgetting several but that really should do for now.
Some of my favorite places to eat in Carrboro/Chapel Hill are Breadmen's, Fuse, Pepper's Pizza (mmmmmmm pizza!), Elmo's Diner, The Station/Southern Rail, Carrburritos, Med Deli, and Oishii Sushi just to name a few. Trader Joe's is my crack for grocery shopping!
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Here is a nugget to chew on though...I probably like Chris Isaak than any man should.
You should message me if
Some things that my ideal match would be into are buying from local businesses, i.e, restaurants, produce, coffee shops, etc. An interest in political and social issues is a big turn on as well. If you are passionate about music as much as I am, we'll get along just fine.
