My self-summary
I recently moved to the Bay Area from a small town in California's Central Valley, and I like it a lot so far. I came down here to get into web development. I started my first web development job exactly a week ago and I love it.

In my free time, I like to go out, watch TV, and browse Quora. I'm very talkative and warm with people I know, but seem aloof to strangers.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working as a front-end web developer for a gaming startup. Before that, I had worked at a variety of crappy retail jobs, so I'm really grateful to have fulfilling, interesting work. I've worked hard to get myself into this career, and now I want to dedicate a little more time to my social life and just relaxing.
I’m really good at
Guessing what songs are really fast I'm pretty good at SongPop.

Writing. I love writing.

Languages. I used to always practice speaking Spanish with my coworkers, and I'm not bad considering I only took two years of Spanish in high school, over 10 years ago. If someone tells me a word once, I can usually remember it for good. I piece together a lot of stuff from songs (Sublime-Caress Me Down) and wherever else I can find it. I actually didn't know I had this knack for languages until I spontaneously started speaking broken Spanish to a Mexican customer a year ago when I was working in a store. Then I tried talking to my coworkers, and I've learned a lot since.
The first things people usually notice about me
In my hometown, a small farming town in the California Central Valley, people thought that I seemed posh, like a city boy.

Since moving to the Bay Area, I am always being told that I have a Southern accent. *shrug*
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: I love movies.
A few favorites: The Shawshank Redemption, L.A. Confidential, Inglourious Basterds, 3:10 to Yuma, Tropic Thunder, Gran Torino, The Fighter, Million Dollar Baby, Shutter Island

Shows: I like a lot of the NBC comedies. I value real belly laughs more than "Look, everybody! I get the pop culture reference!" humor. The Office, 30 Rock, Community, Parks and Recreation are some of my favorites. I like The Office the most because it makes me laugh out loud the most often.

I love finding a quality drama series and watching the whole thing on Netflix. Mad Men was amazing, as was Breaking Bad. Now I'm getting into The Wire, which I love so far. There's an endless supply of good TV, so I'm good even if this OkCupid thing doesn't work out :)

Music: I mostly listen to rap: Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Eminem, Game, Outkast, TI, Lil Wayne, Dr. Dre. I love music.

Food: Mexican, Chinese, and American

Books: Geeky stuff about the big Internet issues with way-too-serious titles like "Google: The End of the World As We Know It" (I'm not making that up.)

Geeky foreign policy stuff: "Guns, Germs and Steel",
"The Future of Freedom", "The Pentagon's New Map."
Not expecting too many people to know what the hell I'm talking about here.
The six things I could never do without
I don't like this question, so I'll just take it to mean "some things I love."

1. Getting in my warm car when it's sunny and windy out.

2. Headphones, so I can bump gangsta rap without offending innocent bystanders.

3. The Internet, 'cause how else could I learn about my random interests.

4. Belly laughs

5. My family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The Internet. Politics. Music. How to say things in Spanish and/or French.
On a typical Friday night I am
Catching up on the week's TV shows. Er, I mean being really cool, partying and stuff.
