My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm easy going. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy and I like to giggle a lot. I try not to take myself too seriously, and I’m always finding the humor in life. I’m the first person in the room to laugh at myself or some ridiculous thing I just did or said. My foot winds up in my mouth far more often than I would prefer. Did I mention I’m kind of a klutz? Always hurting myself doing stupid stuff. I'm rarely in a bad mood, usually somewhere between good and great mood. I always screw up song lyrics, which is bad for my professional karaoke career. Warning you right now, I love movie quotes. They come fast and furious. My favorite place in the world is about 60 feet deep in tropical waters, blowing bubbles and looking at the sea critters. Would love love love to swim with a whale shark one day. Or giant manta rays.

I’m also rather cerebral and very much a thinker. Tend to spend a lot of time analyzing things before making decisions, and I can sometimes live in my head for extended periods of time.

Some ways I would spend a Saturday…

- 15 miles of singletrack on two wheels.

- Festival in the park under my pop-up with my buds. Preferrably rock n’ roll (see note below re: bluegrass)

- Hiking to Lake Hope, or any trail through aspen groves with views of big mountains.

- Cocktail pool day at the Peaks Hotel!

- People watching on Main street with my dog.

- The Via Ferrata. Ohmygod, one of the coolest things I’ve ever done in Telluride!

I love the Nugget Theatre. It is by no means the most sophisticated or comfortable theatre out there, but where else can you walk in with a pizza and a bunch of beers. Really wish they did matinees.

I don't like mean people. Or arrogant people. I do, however, like the prairie dogs on the valley floor.

I love to laugh and love good comedy. The comedy fest in the winter is one of my favorite weekends of the year (ohmygod, it’s in two weeks… can’t wait!). I laugh so hard and so much that my face hurts. My sense of humor definitely runs along the edge of raunchy, sarcastic, and borderline offensive, but I certainly know when to mind my P’s and Q’s. Comics like Louis C.K., Amy Schumer, Anthony Jeselnik, Aziz Ansari, and the rest of those new breed really tickle my funny bone. My favorite TV shows and movies are down below and that should give you an idea of my sense of humor.

I'm affectionate, and I'm very generous with the hugs and kisses. And I love to get 'em, too. I like to give compliments. Sincere ones. I'll notice when you got your hair done.

I’m a romantic at heart.

I love the desert canyonlands. Can’t wait for spring.

Being outside is awesome, but sometimes I'm a homebody and I enjoy it.

I love my dog. The chihuahua has me wrapped around her little finger. She is the sweetest little pooch in the world. I baby talk to her all the time, and she has like a thousand nicknames, but always knows exactly when I'm talking to her. She comes to work with me every day and hustles treats from my office neighbors - she's got it down to a science. She is a gentle little soul, and I would take a bullet for her.

Lived in Spain for a year and loved it. My travel bug desperately needs to get fed. On the list: Southeast Asia. Chile. Peru. Great Barrier Reef.

Although common interests are important, I think it's far more important to have similar values and/or point of view of the world. Are you a genuine, down to earth person? Cool, so am I. Do you respect the living world around you? Awesome, me too. Do you like to ski and mountain bike? That’s great, I do too, but that’s not really important to me in a match. Maybe you can take me rock-climbing, and I can take you scuba-diving, but it's all the time in between those things that is what's important. I want to know what you think, and how you feel... What makes you tick?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Coming out of a very long term relationship and making new friends. Lots of change in my life for the better over the past year, and I’m feeling a profound sense of happiness start to overtake me that I didn’t realize was possible.

Career. Re-dedicating myself to being the best at what I do. Finding myself reinvigorated and ready to kick ass and take names.

Live music. Seen some GREAT bands in Telluride this past year. Can’t wait for RideFest in July. Keep an ear out for Deep Sea Diver (at the Opera House this past March) and Stereo Reform (at the Moon in July). Totally dying for a big festival like Coachella or something like that where I could see 10 of my favorite bands all in one weekend. And I love a good DJ set too. I can dance to EDM all night long.

Yoga. Just started, I'm a total rookie, but I love it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Explaining things.

Useless trivia. I kinda geek out watching Jeopardy.

Admitting when I'm wrong.

Cooking eggs. Love the breakfast foods.

Trying new things.

Being a great copilot on a roadtrip. I dial in Google maps, fetch the next playlist, keep frosty beverages in the cup holder, and most importantly I unwrap your sandwich or burrito at the drive thru so it's ready to go for you.

Paperwork. I know, that's sexy as hell, right?

Carving big surfy pow turns. (I had to offset the paperwork thing.)

Empathy.

Trip planning. I go all OCD for about a month before a big trip.

Cleaning and organizing. I'm pretty tidy for a guy. I make my bed every morning and there is rarely a dish in the sink for long.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My lush wavy hair, of course. I'm told I can sometimes get kinda loud and animated, so could very well be the very first thing to catch someone's attention.

80's. Love it.
The Lonely Island. Loove those parodies.
EDM (that's a genre, in case that isn't clear. I love dancing)

Ok, I'm just going to get this out there: I hate bluegrass. I've tried. I can't. It doesn't work for me. The sound of a banjo and/or mandolin makes my ears hurt. Too bad Telluride's biggest festival is for this genre. BUT, I respect that it is a technically challenging to play well and respect it. But i still hate it.

Books:

Big fan of techno-fiction like Michael Crichton, as well as political suspense stuff in the Beltway, military non-fiction, and historical pieces. I’m currently reading Kafka on the Seashore by Haruki Murakami (my 2nd Murakami) and Inferno by Dan Brown (ugggh, definitely not Angels and Demons).

Food:

Seafood... Loooove raw oysters on the half shell
Sushi
Thai
Mexican

I'm not a picky eater at all. I enjoy vegan and vegetarian food quite a bit, and eat that way at home fairly often.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The chihuahua
Happy Hour / Apres Ski
Live music
Great sex
Scuba diving

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Surfing or diving for off-season? Costa or Cozumel? When am I going to southeast Asia? And South America?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Happy hour with friends. Maybe some music or an event going on in Town. Hot tub! Maybe just sofa-time watching a movie. A game night would be awesome! I like to go out and hit the nightlife with friends, but I’m getting kinda tired of trying to meet women at the bars.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sometimes talk to myself. Ok, often times. Like, I will even crack a joke with no one around and laugh out loud. I figure I'm ok until this turns into "arguing" with myself.

I like to pretend that I look like 11 time world chamion surfer Kelly Slater (the greatest athlete of all time, btw). Once I was buying a copy of Outside magazine that had a pic of Kelly on the cover, and the girl behind the counter looked at the magazine, looked at me, and said, "wow, is that you?". No joke. I swear to god I almost bought that girl a 2 week vacation to Hawaii on the spot.

And lastly... One of my favorite "guilty pleasure" songs is Baby, I Like It! by Enrique Iglesias. I know, it's terrible. But I like it anyways. Ok, glad we got that out there. Better you find out now than after I've had a few drinks and am playing it on the jukebox at the bar. Whatever, I've been to like 10 Metallica concerts!

You are easy going and willing to get together for coffee or a glass of wine and see if we click. If your primary goal is landing a husband right now, I'm not your guy. I am here to meet an incredible woman for a romantic relationship. If you want positive energy and lots of laughs right now, I am your guy.

I'm respectful, direct, and I don't play games. If that sounds like something you want in your life, take a chance and message me and let’s have that drink, it might be the best decision you ever made.
