I am easily misunderstood I think. It's probably my fault. I feel like people often get the wrong impression from me - and I think that is because I take a little while to figure out. You won't get the whole deal in one sitting.

I'm an iconoclast and a bit cerebral. But when I'm comfortable with someone, I'm very silly. I'm not able to show this side to everyone - maybe later in my life I will - so it's a large compliment if I can laugh with you and hopefully make you laugh!

I am right smack in the middle of getting my Teaching Credential. I'm doing my student teaching in Chemistry and I'm hoping I'll be able to teach Physics by the time I complete the program. So that's taking up a nice chunk of my life! I'm really loving it though - it feels good to put time in to something that I believe in.

I'm also working as a waiter at a fine dining restaurant here in Chico. The restaurant industry has been great to me and helped me evolve - especially socially. I'll be ready to say good bye to it fairly soon though.

For fun? At the moment I've been neglecting my fun side. Over the summer I want to travel to India and get certified to teach Ashtanga Yoga. My practice is in peril at the moment, but I'll be able to get it back in gear. I also like outdoor stuff - hiking, biking, rock climbing. Once I get settled in as a teacher I plan to bring these things back into my life with more frequency.

1. Thinking about things in ways that many don't bother to think of.

2. Recognizing people that need some help and offering it without being obtrusive.

3. I'm an active guy, so I'm pretty good at most activities involving motion. I'm very flexible for a dude.

Maybe my hair or my glasses. I've had a lot of people ask and/or straight up assume I'm a Jew. It turns out, in case you were wondering, that I do indeed have some Jewish blood in me.

Changing all the time. For books I like Paul Auster and Somerset Maugham, Zadie Smith and Haruki Murakami, Tolkien and Garcia Marquez . . . many authors I suppose. I've started liking anime, I think the fast pace and odd plots are fun.

Movies: Man I used to watch a lot of movies! A couple of my favorite directors are Woody Allen, Jim Jarmusch, and Wes Anderson. I also like a lot European film - but I'm spacing on names right now!

Music: My big loves are jazz and old school blues.

As for food, I like things fresh and I think food is worth the
money and time. I'm not a foodie, nor an advocate for "sustainable" whatevers (see the iconoclast in me?) I just think food is incredible and we as people should enjoy and work with it and experience it - rather than clinically filling a biological need.

A cup to drink with, people to make me feel like a person, free time for whatever, eyes to see all this everything . . . A sense of humor because it's the best form of communication we have, a unifying thread of humanity stronger than nearly anything else we share. I think so anyway.

Why people think the way they do. About how most everyone is a hypocrite to varying degrees. About why we think at all instead of just doing things. About interactions I had that were particularly interesting or dull, comfortable or awkward. About how odd it is that most people who have set politics seem to think that they've got it right. But mostly about you strange creatures called women.

Don't hate me, but I find babies to be more gross than they are cute.

You'd like to talk about anything. Anything at all. I love theoretical banter, but talking about average everyday occurrences is enjoyable too.
