My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Midwestern girl with an appetite for adventure.

After college I lived in New York and Boston. I moved to California in 2000. I am family oriented, career focused, adventure minded, and also enjoy many interests outside of work.

I volunteer for hospice doing pet therapy and also help rescue dogs find their furever homes.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently I'm exploring the next stage of my career and trying to figure out where is my next playground. More than likely, I will be relocating early 2015.

I've got a couple trips planned to Colorado to enjoy ski season, and will welcome a few 3-4 day trips to Big Bear and Mammoth.

When staying around home on the weekends, I enjoy cycling and bikram yoga during the day, live music, dinner or a movie at night.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm good at perceiving what isn't spoken, reading people's energy, leading by intuition.

I'm also good at spreading joy, smiling and laughing, being silly, dancing like nobody is watching...listening to my partner, being present.
The first things people usually notice about me

They notice my eyes, and kind demeanor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

So many books, can't name them all. Come look for yourself at my collection, I keep my favorites.

I enjoy legal dramas, crime stories, and shows with family themes, think Brothers and Sisters, Breaking Bad, 24. Now I'm watching Shameless (horrible but hilarious), Homeland and The Affair.

My music collection is diverse, influenced by my friends and travels.

I enjoy eating fresh fruit and vegetables every day. I'm not much of a meat eater but I do eat it sparingly. I prefer fish if given a choice. I'm relatively open to all types of cuisine, my favorites are thai, indian, sushi, italian, and of course occasionally a grilled mozzerella cheese sandwich.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
access to play in nature
strong social network
playtime and snuggling
my canine companion
music - listening, creating
spiritual fulfillment
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why do men reach out to me expressing interest and then when I respond with mutual interest, with my number, they never call, or they send countless meaningless emails. It seems to me if there is interest, a person should pick up the phone and plan a date if the conversation goes positively. I am not seeking a text buddy or someone to share half naked pictures, so if that is your thing, please don't contact me.

Every morning I think about a flowering plant I've kept alive for over a year. There were several times it looked dead and I was ready to give it up, but I always gave it another chance and it keeps coming back with new buds. It's been a metaphor of life to watch the old life fall away, and see the new growth flower in abundance. NOTE: I thought for sure this plant was dead after the last couple months. Then one day I woke up to see two pink flowers. There is always more life, even in the drought.

I wonder what people are not sharing in their profiles. Everybody puts their best self forward but the truth is we all have some part that is vulnerable and secret.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing at home or in the neighborhood with friends, or enroute to weekend fun somewhere else.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not a big fan of online dating, but here I am. It seems engineered to meet people with similar interests, leading to matches that would make good friends. I think we're better off to find the right chemistry/energy fit and share a few similar interests, or grow to share common interests. It's hard to test chemistry online. I guess that's why they call it a numbers game?
