My self-summary
I would like to learn your mind.

People sometimes think I am being sarcastic when I am actually being sincere. I usually speak plainly, without hidden meaning.

You can be honest and direct with me, I don't mind. This is not the same thing as rude.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a software developer in San Francisco. It seems I'm in good company.
I’m really good at
- Learning. I really enjoy the process of dedicated practice, and improving at something.
- Teaching. It is an honor when I can show someone something they find valuable.
- Getting rid of material possessions I don't need.
The first things people usually notice about me
Why don't you send me a message and tell me what you noticed about me? Then I'll have more things to put here.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I got rid of my TV and it was among the best decisions I have ever made.

I don't watch movies very often. Miyazaki movies are always entertaining, and the Coen brothers' films usually are as well. The Bechdel test is a relatively effective filter for weeding out trash movies.

I usually keep up with Clarisse Thorn and Pervocracy. I recently read all of Digger, which is a very well written comic. Also Pump Six by Paolo Bacigalupi was eye opening.
The six things I could never do without
0. Beautiful minds to interact with
1. Quiet time
2. Fresh air and sunshine
3. A computer
4. Milk
5. Zero based counting
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next adventure. New ways to move while dancing. Graph theory. Applying algorithms to daily tasks. Proprioception. Theory of mind. Topology. What people are thinking when they are doing what they are doing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm polyamorous. For me, this means that I don't consider I would ever be truly happy in the long term feeling close to only one person. Connecting with someone wonderful is something I live for. And I would never want to cause someone I care about to forego connecting with someone else they find wonderful.

Kink philosophy is wonderful, regardless of what specific acts you actually like. I see it as being unafraid to pursue satisfaction in your relationships, even if it contravenes social norms.
I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi guys
  • Ages 25–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
This is a list of things that I have learned to appreciate in a friend or partner. I don't mean this as a checklist, it's more to tell you about me than to criticize you.

- You are kind, and wish good things for the people around you.
- You are capable of having a real conversation about consent, and can politely assert your personal boundaries.
- You know what you want and need, and can convey it in a useful manner.
- You are humble, and admit and learn from your mistakes.
