My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a curious, science-oriented guy. I smile immoderately when I'm happy. Once somebody has truly earned my trust, there's little they can do to make me stop loving them. I like to see the good in everybody, but love people even more for their faults.

I'm very socially liberal in my beliefs about reproductive choice, equality and opportunity to do whatever you want, regardless of your orientation or gender, born or chosen. But I'm actually pretty traditional in my personal gender roles. I don't mind paying on dates, I've never been good at cooking or gardening, and I'm totally a sucker for women who complement me. Or compliment me. ;)

Reviews are in. Here's what the critics are saying:

"He's a great guy because...he likes cats and puts up with me. And cares about cities and shit."
"Creatively entertaining! Best Summer thrill ride of 2014!"
"Four paws up!"

Two of those quotes come from actual friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Write software and do stats for a small company in the sports/entertainment industry. It's awesome and I love it while I'm doing it and I love my coworkers as coworkers, but I try my hardest not to make it my identity.

I'm deeply involved in local civic politics / activism as a blogger ( ) and on the board of an urbanist organization, trying to make the city more affordable, transit-oriented, walkable, and city-like. It's grown to take up a lot of my time and be a lot closer to an identity than my regular work, but it's worth it because the people are great and the cause is great.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Bringing out the best in people.
Talking through problems.
Figuring out what needs to get done.
Mathy stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I don't read this section. I know a lot of you spend a lot of time on it, but my eyes glaze over reading long lists.

Arty, independent, eclectic, geeky, foreign. Covers books, music, food, art, shows, people, and many other things.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Smartphone, friends, walkable city, camera, air conditioning.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not a drinker (fine if you are, of course!) but I still like doing the bars on East 6th. Movies at the Ritz, improv at the Hideout, taking photos, or just meditating along the river.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I come off as pretty confident in most things—and I am—but there's always been a healthy (or perhaps unhealthy) dose of anxiety driving me toward achievement.

I don't pay much attention to my "visitors" tab, so if you want to get my attention, be brave and escalate to rating me or saying hi.

Between work and politics, I'm pretty busy so i don't have time to prepare elaborate Bachelor-style dates. I'm really looking for somebody I can enjoy evenings with, go out and try new restaurants, music, theater, activities, and pull my mind away from the mundane.

It's too much pressure to think any particular date is going to lead to a long-term relationship. That's really what I want, though, so only message me if you're open to that as a possibility.
