* Traveling: I'm lucky that my work has taken me to all corners of the world and there are many places that I would love to revisit, preferably with someone to truly enjoy the experience, top of the list are New Zealand and Vietnam.
* Reading: Everything from The FT to cooking blogs, I have a voracious appetite for knowledge and good stories.
* Spending time with friends: I am of the opinion that it is the people that matters more than the location. It could be as simple as a potluck dinner with friends but as long as it is with people whose company I enjoy, it beats dinner at the finest restaurant.
* Films/TV/Music: I'm reminded of Dave Grohl's quote, "I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. If you like something, like it." And I freely admit that I enjoy romantic comedies like "Must Love Dogs" (or really, any John Cusack movie) and find Taylor Swift's newest album to be very catchy and enjoyable.
These few things aside, I am very passionate about my family, friends, and work. Perhaps a bit too much of that last one if I were honest. Other random hobbies include photography, cooking, watching documentaries, and wine "tasting" (really, just wine drinking ;).
While I no longer put a lot of stock in the Myers–Briggs personality test, I have found that I'm what is colloquially known as an extroverted-introvert. Meaning that while I enjoy and happily engage in large social gatherings I much prefer smaller intimate sets. An excellent evening for me is getting together with friends, new and old, to share an good bottle of wine and engaging conversation.
With all that said, even though I have many things to fill my time they never fill the emptiness that I long to be filled by another person; what I truly miss is the tingle I get every time that special someone's name pops up on my phone, be it a call or just a quick text to say hello.
I am introspective, self-critical, and witty.
