A unique blend of intense and laid back attitudes. While generally easy going and quite relaxed about most situations I am very passionate about my family, friends, and work. I love to laugh and have great conversations with interesting people. I'll try anything twice, try to never take myself too seriously, and can have a good time in almost any situation. My greatest wish is to find a woman with whom I can throw away my watch; that when I'm with her, I'll have no regrets about unplugging myself from the rest of the world.

Boy, was that succinct! The search for the perfect non-offensive self-description has led to what? Quite honestly, a very bland description. I am a mix bag of contradiction, a hopeless romantic trapped in the body of a cynic. I yearn for the closeness and intimacy of a better half yet cling to my independence fiercely. I find myself longing for someone with whom I would chase fantastic and quixotical dreams.

I don't think it possible to truly articular who it is that I'm looking for or to have a list to check off, I will simply say that I am looking for simpatico.

I am introspective, self-critical, and witty.

I'm very good at stealing kids' lunch money and their lollipop. Rest assured I'm only giving it to other, less well off children though!

Cooking, reading, and giving you my opinion.

My loud voice.

(A) Some of my favourite books include Great Expectations, Princess Bride, and Lord of the Rings; and while I've seen all of them on the screens the books are still vastly superior.

(B) I watch a lot of documentaries and an overwhelming fondness for all things BBC. From Dr. Who to the latest Attenborough documentary. I also delight in sitcoms like Modern Family and Community.

(C) In my old age, I've learned to appreciate music in all its form (not to mention I am hopeless at keeping up with what's going on currently) and often retreat back to favourites like Radiohead, OMD, Avett Brothers, Regina Spektor, and Josh Radin.

(D) Chinese food! Sushi is also great. My recent culinary adventures have centered around Central and South American food, like Peruvian. (And my personal guilty pleasure, the saltado.)

After having finally decided to get around to my 2009 New Year's resolution of decluttering my life, I've decided that there really isn't anything I can't do without.

Besides the obligatory nod towards family and friends, of course.

In my weaker moments, I have been found hoarding my supply of chewing gum, iPhone, and moleskine.

At the office. But, while I'm at the office, I am secretly wishing I could be at a quiet dinner with friends enjoying some wine and good food.
