My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Cortney. I love to read and write, yet I'm quite extroverted. Make me laugh and I'll want to be your friend. I love Sci-Fi and Pokemon. Sometimes I think I'm a 12-year-old boy trapped in a woman's body. I'm a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants. I love music, both playing it and listening to it. My idea of a perfect date involves music, good food, and laughter.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a pharmacy technician and study journalism and English lit at Ohio University. I'm building a writing portfolio and aspire to go to grad school to continue with my journalistic career. (Honestly, as long as I get to work with words, I'll be happy.)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Editing papers, baking sweets, listening, playing the clarinet and Pokemon (the video game).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a little bit weird. I also tend to burst into song at random.

I have way too many favorite books to name. I love classic American lit; William Faulkner is my favorite author. I read a lot of YA fiction; coming of age is my favorite literary theme. I am currently writing a YA book of my own. I will read (and enjoy) nearly any fiction or informative literature. The exceptions: I HATE Hawthorne and Melville, most Russian literature seems dry to me (I do, however, have a soft spot for Nabokov), and Hemingway isn't exactly my favorite novelist, but I think his short stories are mostly brilliant. I also hate books that are extremely poorly written.

Movies I love: Anything with Audrey Hepburn, musical movies, movies based on comic books (especially Marvel), The Boondock Saints, Star Wars, stupid comedies like Superbad, Midnight in Paris, Silver Linings Playbook, The Perks of Being a Wallflower (It's almost as good as the book.)

TV shows I love (and I do, admittedly, watch too much TV these days): DOCTOR WHO HAS TAKEN OVER MY LIFE, Community, Archer, Sons of Anarchy, South Park, The Big Bang Theory, Degrassi (watched it since I was 12 and don't plan on stopping), Family Guy, American Horror Story, Skins (U.K. version), Reign

TV shows from the past I adore: Star Trek (TOS), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, That 70s Show, Gilmore Girls (the first 3 seasons), Everwood

My favorite story of all time in ANY medium? Peter Pan.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) My mom
2) Books
3) Ice cream
4) My dogs
5) Laughter
6) Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Literature, songs that should be playing during specific moments in life, the universe and all its possibilities, traveling, the stories in my head
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Watching movies with friends, reading a book, possibly at a concert
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

You have something interesting to say about yourself and possess a basic understanding of the English language. If you do not know the differences between "they're, there, and their" or "to, too, and two," please do not contact me. I do not mean to be a snob, but extremely poor grammar truly bothers me.
