I hope to become the kind of person you hear about on the evening news...the good kind of person who is the Samaritan/saint/foster mother/brave soldier/selfless neighbor and burning baby saver, but I will settle for just being like the hot looking weather girl in the tight dress.

what am I doing with my life? what a question! obviously, i'm looking for a prince on the world wide web! kissin' frogs! trying to like kale! worrying about pollution and then worrying that I am not doing anything about it. learning to appreciate all kinds of people and the unique gifts that they can offer. trying to remember to pull the trash cans to the curb on Tuesday nights.

Being patient. And being honest. Not good at: kinputers.

An honest answer to this question could possibly incriminate me. My fantasy answer is this: people usually notice my warm smile and are pleased that I remember their name, even if we only met once and they made no lasting or interesting impression and we are barely acquainted.
but I imagine that:

magazines: The New Yorker, which I read in page order (who are these lunatics who skip around?), fashion periodicals, and trashy gossip mags. I have been known to stand in an unoccupied grocery checkout line for nearly an hour reading the trash.
books: when i used to read fiction, my favorite books of all time were of human bondage and cold mountain. i had a brief love affair with travel writing, and then moved on to other non fiction books. I keep my books in order by the color of their spine. I have an unsatisfying number of yellows.
My taste in music can only be described as plebeian. It focuses largely on bad contemporary country music, pop music and hip hop.
My favorite films are ghostbusters (only the first one -- I don't care much for sequels), weird science, Annie, Mary Poppins, Bugsy Malone. The last three I rewind again and again so that I can sing along. I also rewind old episodes of the original Muppet show to sing along....whether its with Kermit, John Denver, or Linda Ronstadt. I wish my voice was as pretty as hers!

How I can fit in a nap...

At the video store! Yes, I rent videos the old fashioned way. I pick DVDs off a shelf, and sometimes ask the real humans who work there for advice. Then we sometimes exchange witty banter. I have a secret desire to make a documentary about the comings and goings of the store's patrons....I am fascinated by the conversations I overhear there, the clientele, and most of all, the eccentric long time employees who are the soul of the place. Have no idea how the place stays in business, and I am terrified it will close!

My ideal fella likes the outdoors and animals, wants to have a family, isn't too hairy, drives like a sane person, never spits in front of a lady, makes the bed the morning after, tolerates my technological ineptitude, is intelligent and funny, and has a good relationship with his family.

Some of the above are optional/negotiable. Extra bonus points if you own a nose/ear hair trimmer and use it on a regular basis, if your pet has its own bed which is separate from yours, and if you don't think less of me because I do not eat sushi.
