I am lighthearted, crazy, and loving.
My Self-Summary
I am a 20-year-old college student at Marquette University,
studying computer science. A little bit introverted, but I'm always
up for a good joke or outing. I'm just learning to be more
independent, and I think I've found a good balance between maturity
and childishness (at least in humor). I'm a pretty open,
nonjudgmental person, and I'm always up for trying something
new.
I'm a casual gamer who'd be up for more if I had the money for real
games. While not completely lazy, I'm definitely more of an indoor
person and usually have a better time staying in and keeping busy
than constantly going out.
My favorite word is lackadaisical, even though it doesn't describe
me at all. There's a certain beauty to the word, but not the
state.
I'm constantly singing along to something. Usually it's in my
head.
I find these things fairly hard to write, because the best way to
get to know me is just to be around me.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working on finishing my B.S. in computer science so that one
day I may actually have a decent job and some money.
Mostly, though, I'm just enjoying the company of people around me
and wondering what's going to come next.
I’m really good at
-pretending I'm good with computers when really I just pay
attention enough to make sure my old desktop doesn't die.
-starting to learn languages and then getting distracted and
starting another one.
-finding a balance between spaced out and concentration. I used to
play folkloric Haitian drums (not too common, I'll admit!) and once
I found a groove I could drum for hours on end without missing a
beat.
-giving hugs, or so I've been told. A good hug can solve a lot.
The first things people usually notice about me
My warm nature and how much I smile, even when it's a bit of a
nervous smile.
Lately, it's been how, on a good day, my hair tends to make me a
full 2 inches taller.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: My taste in books never really grew up. The Harry Potter
series, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Wrinkle in Time
series, Catcher in the Rye, The Kite Runner, Do Androids Dream of
Electric Sheep. Le Petit Prince will always have a special place in
my heart.
Movies: Once again, as childish as it is, Lilo and Stitch.
Otherwise, I'm not much of a movie person, but I love Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep, Garden State
and The Producers.
Music: Right now I'm on a bit of a Decemberists-Death Cab for
Cutie-The Shins-Lupe Fiasco-Macy Gray-Sam Cooke kick. But I'll
listen to a little bit of everything at least once as partially
evidenced my my last.fm account:

TV: I absolutely adore House. When I watch it, it's usually best to
either leave me alone or sit and join me.
I recently finished watching Firefly/Serenity/the R. Tam Sessions.
They changed my life.
Food: Seafood. Anything spicy. Scotch bonnet peppers stay in my
house.
The six things I could never do without
1. My faith - it's gotten me through some very tough times.
2. My family - same as above, but they usually make me laugh doing
it.
3. My music - I'm constantly listening to something. Silence is
deadly.
4. My computer/internet - Well, it's my major, so it'd be a little
hard to graduate without it.
5. Education - It's hard to imagine myself NOT graduating.
6. Humor - Life is so much better when you can be silly and laugh
it at.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what I probably should be doing, and good reasons not to do it.
That second part doesn't usually work out.
On a typical Friday night I am
Inside, chilling with friends and badly playing Guitar Hero and DDR
or singing along to bad pop music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
is that there's nothing much private to reveal.
You should message me if
you find me even remotely interesting, if you can be silly and
funny, or even if you just want a friend to talk to. =]
