My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I care about social justice, equality and making the world a better place. It's important to balance that with making sure to have a great time and forge genuine connections. I'm ambitious, but not at any cost.

I enjoy a challenge, mental or physical. I value staying engaged, communication, risk. Quality over quantity. I'd like to think of myself as intelligent, interesting, and funny, but who wouldn't?

At the moment, I'm on here to find one of three things, in order of priority: a serious relationship, something casual that involves great sex, or new friends.

If you're racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, are mean to waitstaff, or get teary-eyed when you hear the national anthem then we probably won't get along very well.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For work, I lead a team of data analysts at a non-profit healthcare system.

I've been an activist for many years, and have written a lot of non-fiction.

I love going to see plays, but don't go often enough. Want to check out a show?

Over the past couple of years, I've dedicated a lot of time to learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I love the sport, and hope to remain a lifelong practitioner.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
math, writing, computer stuff, storytelling.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The other day someone said this to me: "I'm sorry but I just had to say that you have perfect hair." So for now I'm going with that.

These books have had a lasting impact on me: The Jungle, A Handmaid's Tale, The Grapes of Wrath, Jane Eyre, Autobiography of Malcolm X, Marx's Capital, A People's History of the United States.

I really like Anthony Bourdain's stuff (books, TV shows).

I to eat most types of food except seafood. I like it spicy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The next step. Our society...problems/solutions. Lately I've been getting into computer programming (I'm good at SQL, now working on Ruby/Rails)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doing my thing. Probably going to jiu jitsu then either to a bar with friends or home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm much less innocent than I look

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are confident, know what you want, and think I might be it.

You are looking for a relationship to enrich your life, but not consume it.

You take yourself seriously. I've noticed a lot of people on here say they don't take themselves seriously. That seems sad to me. I mean, if you believe in the afterlife (which I don't), then how you act now is going to be kind of important since it will impact you for all eternity.

If you don't believe in the afterlife, then this is your one shot, so why not take it seriously!? I don't mean never laugh - laughter is ancient for a reason, and should be a part of any serious life - but I'd prefer to be with people who would like their life to mean something.

OR: you have information on the history of the filing cabinet and/or ancient filing systems.
