My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey there! I joined this site during my very brief winter break. I’m a first year elementary school teacher, fresh out of college, so I’m a little busy and a lot stressed. I could definitely use someone to make life a little more fun right now!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
It’s my first year as an elementary school teacher, and I’m currently teaching fourth graders who truly believe they know more than me, but they’re funny, so I keep them around. When I’m not teaching them, I’m preparing lessons to teach them, or grading papers from lessons I’ve taught them, or thinking about teaching them.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-memorizing & reciting movie quotes
-remembering birthdays
-teaching sarcasm to children
-listening to others
-giving & receiving advice
-pop culture trivia questions
-wii bowling. I’m not bragging, I’m just saying.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My personality ranges between sharp and snarky to extremely silly. I have a loud laugh and a big smile, and about 7 million freckles.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: Wedding Crashers, Anchorman, The Dark Knight, anything Wes Anderson, anything Christopher Nolan, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days :)
TV Shows: Arrested Development, Parks & Recreation, The Office (circa season two), LOST, Once Upon a Time, Friends
Books: all Harry Potter, all the time. When I’m not reading one of those for the 17th time, I’m reading books on how to be a better teacher, or books that my fourth graders might be interested in so I can FINALLY get them interested in reading.
Food: I got a little too used to the Ramen noodle diet in college, but I also love shrimp and snow crab legs. I’ll try anything once!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-my family to keep me sane
-friends to keep me happy
-good TV to keep me laughing
-exercise to keep me energized
-the kids I work with every day who make me laugh, cry, roll my eyes, and smile so wide
-orbit wintermint gum.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-Why “Arrested Development” was canceled
-my current/past/future lessons
-my current/past/future students
-trying to remember things I need to do
-how the people in my life are doing and how I can help make life better for them
-how the creator of Post-Its has made my life so much easier
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Well, that depends on how much sleep I’ve gotten/how I feel/how my kids have treated me. Two Fridays ago, I was dancing at the Rec Room. Last Friday, I was watching Parks & Rec while grading papers while working out on the exercise bike while eating dinner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I’m sure anyone who has read through all of this can tell that I’m snarky and cynical…but I’ve spent most of my time lately being fiercely independent by choice. I won’t be that clingy girl calling you asking what you did after you brushed your teeth because I have other things to worry about…but I will give my all when it counts.

You know how to make a girl laugh, can carry a good conversation, or have discovered the wonders of Parks & Recreation. :)
