My self-summary
I'm a single mid-20 something guy who has recently moved away from everyone and everything I used to spend time with/doing. I took the leap because of a job.

I'm wanting to find someone who I can talk to, hang out with, and possibly date.

I don't have much faith in dating sites though I'd like to be surprised. Especially since by the time I get off work there is nothing open or going on here where I could meet someone.

I'd like to consider myself a pretty cool dude with quite a bit to offer. I have had quite a few fun adventures throughout my life and can tell some great stories. I'm sure the best are still to come.

I've cut out the paragraphs of info I used to put here. Most people don't read it anyways, maybe this will be easier on the eyes.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working a high energy long hour job with hopes of moving up through the ranks of my employer. I'm trying to stash as much savings back as I can while at the same time eliminating my student loan burden.

I want to finish out a degree someday soon. I'm at the point anymore that I don't care what degree it is so long as I can use it to get my foot in the door somewhere that I can have a long term career.

I'm orienting myself to my new living arrangements and working on deciding if I want to stay around here or look elsewhere for a place to plant my roots.
I’m really good at
Well hopefully I'm good at writing, it's an activity I quite enjoy.

I am really really good at retaining what I learn, especially about history.

I'm a fast learner and usually catch on to things pretty quick. I have a good work ethic when I have something that needs to be done.

I'm also good at keeping myself entertained. When left to my own devices I usually end up browsing the interwebs, reading, or researching deeper about some little tidbit of information I've stumbled upon somewhere.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've no idea what people notice about me physically. It's probably my build, I'm a big guy and I know it, it doesn't bother me. In fact it motivates me to become healthier.

Personality, I've been told people notice how observant and sociable I am. Also my quick witted sense of humor and love of impromptu performing get me noticed a lot.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've touched on some of my favorite books already. Some of my favorite books that I reread from time to time are LOTR, The Hobbit, Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Ishmael, My Ishmael, and Dinotopia (pretty much any and all of them, I discovered them in elementary school and have been hooked for life).

There are a large range of movies and documentaries that I enjoy. Some favorites are Blazing Saddles, The Avengers, The Dark Knight (and rises), Despicable Me, Up, Star Wars (later called Episode IV: A New Hope), Rio Bravo, El Dorado, McClintock, The Producers, Space Balls, History of the World Part I, and The Princess Bride (all time favorite movie EVER).

If you haven't noticed Mel Brooks is a major favorite of mine.

Horror movies, especially ultra violent slasher stuff is not something I enjoy. I'm also not a big fan of zombie movies, though Sean of the Dead was hilarious.

Television and I have a love/hate relationship. There are several shows I love but I hate that they are on television. BBC Top Gear is definitely a favorite and really it's about the only thing I am semi-current with. I do watch other stuff but I do not have any sort of television service at my place and I have other things I enjoy more. I'm up for watching tv, it's just not something I have to do or even really want to do, especially by myself.

My music collection is just plain crazy. I enjoy so many different types of music that I don't even know where to begin. My recent playlists include Gaelic Storm, Benny Goodman, Lindsey Stirling, Peter Hollens, Weird Al, and a smattering of Lady Gaga and Ke$ha (I get teased a lot for the last two).

Food! I love fresh fruit and produce! I'm also obsessive about shrimp (Gulf Shrimp is the best!). Honestly there's not one particular type of cuisine I prefer over any other, definitely not on a regular basis.

I do not like beef though, makes me sick. Partially from stomach troubles and partially I just plain don't like it. Give me chicken or pork (or shrimp!)

Spicy food is something I like though I have to watch my portion size.
The six things I could never do without
1. Internet (fastest communication tool on the planet thusfar and more information on it than I could possibly, going to try to at nonetheless)

2. Social Activity! I'm a people person.

3. Humor, I need a good laugh at least once a day.

4. Something new to learn.

5. Brightly colored shirts (preferably tropical designs). They make me memorable and humiliate my best friend when I wear them in public! What's not to love?

6. Vacations, if I can't break the routine and wonder off somewhere fun/exciting/relaxing now and again I think I'd go crazy(er)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future, what am I doing, what am I going to do, where I am, where I am going, who am I going with, how am I getting there.

The past, what can I learn from it, what insights does it give to the present, how can I teach others to learn from it.

How to conquer the world, before bed time!
On a typical Friday night I am
Recuperating from the work week and loathing that it doesn't end until Saturday afternoon.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm divorced if that's going to be an issue with you then move along. It finalized and went away in 2009 and there is no residual drama. For those of you open minded and accepting I hope to hear from you.

If you want to of course!

I won't judge you and I'll be nice as I can be!

Also I would appreciate a message in response to something I've sent you. A polite response is much more preferable to being ignored but seeing someone constantly visit my profile and say nothing.
