“How do you react when you think you need people's love? Do you become a slave for their approval? Do you live an inauthentic life because you can't bear the thought that they might disapprove of you? Do you try to figure out how they would like you to be, and then try to become that, like a chameleon? In fact, you never really get their love. You turn into someone you aren't, and then when they say "I love you," you can't believe it, because they're loving a facade. They're loving someone who doesn't even exist, the person you're pretending to be. It's difficult to seek other people's love. It's deadly. In seeking it, you lose what is genuine. This is the prison we create for ourselves as we seek what we already have.”
― Byron Katie
I am a miserable failure by society's standards, but I am living life, with all it's light and dark, being the most honest, kind person I can be, and it mystifies me that it is such an unpopular thing, but then again not, because life is so much more of a temporal thing by our current perspective, no wonder people have their asses clenched so tight - but we have to grow past this, just sayen.
“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
― Jiddu Krishnamurti
If you are happy with the status qua and don't see how backasswards things are, please move along. Seinfeld called it bizzarro world, maybe for different reason, but I see things like integrity derided and greed awarded and I am not comfortable with that.
That being said, I do love to laugh and have fun and try to find the good/lessons in things. I am passionate about the world but can laugh at some pretty stupid stuff as well.
At this age many people have reached their peak and are settling in to coast but I have not come close to realizing my full potential and am excited about the possibilities.
