My self-summary
Dreamer, writer, comedian. Big heart and an even bigger notebook.

I love to write, whether it's comedy or just general fiction. I'm currently working on a pseudo-romance book, as well as a drama-comedy screenplay and a graphic novel.

I am a huge movie buff. While I will always and forever enjoy quality filmmaking, I also have a special affinity for bad movies--those terrible, so-bad-they're-good films that I can watch late at night and just laugh at.

I love to learn new things, and I eventually want to start learning new languages as well as brushing up on my Spanish and American Sign Language. I want to learn French, too. I hear it's sexy and I want in on that. The human mind is such a crazy, complex thing. I love exploring that, whether it's my own or someone else's.

I love animals in a strictly platonic way.

I want to meet someone I can have intelligent, fast-paced conversations with, but can also chill out, enjoy a movie, or go out and have fun. A day without laughing is a day wasted.
What I’m doing with my life
I got my degree in Psychology from University of Northern Colorado, and I aim to use this in HR. Right now, I'm working in mid-level management to climb that ladder.

Comedy is huge for me. The power of laughter is hugely underestimated, and I want to use that to being people happiness and healing, both through stand-up and through an organization I just joined that brings together comedians with a focus on supporting a cure for cancer.

I am a journalist for movies, music and video games, spread across several websites and a magazine. I am an editor for a couple of these as well. I am very happy with where my writing career is headed.

Health has become a huge part of my life. Fast food only once in a long while, juicing vegetables, and cooking my own food. Turns out, those benefits are legit!

I also just downloaded an app for my browser that changes every instance of the word "cloud" to "butt." This amuses me and I am not ashamed.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh.

Storytelling. I'll turn any story into the most gripping thing you've ever heard.

Writing. My writing commitments have me write at least one thing per day, so I get plenty of practice. Good thing I like it!

I recently started using a slow cooker, and I think it might be a magic cauldron. So you could say I am really good at putting stuff into a heated bowl and waiting for 10 hours. I'm also good at "cooking," which means putting some stuff in a frying pan and staring at it until it changes color.

I am also severely good at beer pong.*

*Beer pong skill varies based on other person's skill at beer pong.
The first things people usually notice about me
People tell me that my smile is mischievous and it looks like I'm plotting something. These people are usually correct.

My personality. You will never meet another person like me. And that's a guarantee. In a good way.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
-Cloud Atlas (one of the most powerful, beautiful books ever written)
-If On a Winter's Night a Traveler (a total mind trip)
-Finnegans Wake
(I could put The Notebook or Pride & Prejudice, but lying is immoral)

Movies:
-her (an incredible, beautiful romance)
-The Big Lebowski
-The Crow
-The Pink Panther Strikes Again (best comedy ever made)
-Micmacs (wonderful French movie)
-Cloud Atlas
-Punch-Drunk Love
-The LEGO Movie
(Again, I could put The Notebook or Pride & Prejudice, but lying is immoral)

Shows:
-House of Cards
-Parks & Recreation
-30 Rock
-It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
-American Dad
-Arrested Development

Music: Just about anything, though I am very drawn to alternative, creative music.
-Arcade Fire
-Sigur Ros
-Grouplove
-St Vincent
-Destroyer (I've got a story to tell about this guy)

Food:
I literally like everything. Food goes in my mouth, and I eat it. I'm trying to eat healthier though.
The six things I could never do without
-Steak!
-Beer!
-Purple. Purple is the best color and life would be meaningless without it. And what a silly name! Silly purple!
-Netflix. I'd actually be productive without Netflix. Can you imagine? It's literally terrifying to think about what I could have invented by now without Netflix.
-My heart. Having a thing to pump blood around and keep me alive is pretty swell. I don't know what I would do without it. Probably die.
-The ability to scratch an itch. There is literally nothing more satisfying than scratching an itch. Life would suck if you were itchy and no one had invented scratching yet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How badass it would be if I was a wizard.
On a typical Friday night I am
Typical? Well, sometimes I'm watching a movie. Other times I'm at the bar. On occasion I'm doing one or both of those things and regretting the fact that I have to wake up at 5AM for work (You think retail is easy? Retail at Christmas Season will show you what true fear is. Unless you're a nuclear physicist during the Christmas Season or Chris Brown's publicist anytime, in which case you win.)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In this space, I used to have "I want to try stand-up comedy," but I am thrilled to state that I have tried it, and it went very well.

I definitely cried when I watched "Her."

Actually, retail is pretty easy. I was just being dramatic earlier.
