My self-summary
"Live life as if everything is rigged in your favor."~ Rumi
"The love you take is equal to the love you make." ~The Beatles
“Love is the greatest refreshment in life.” ~Pablo Picasso

I'm an intelligent, self-sufficient woman, stable, happy, curious, artsy and a bit non-mainstream (read: progressive), but yet I am comfortable swimming around the fish pond with fish of all stripes. Mannered, kind. Looking for my haystack needle.
What I’m doing with my life
Working in Technology Sales in Manhattan. Creative pursuits. Volunteering. Friends, family. Swimming. I get great pleasure in making a difference.
I’m really good at
I enjoy learning new things and have a natural interest and curiosity that extends in many directions. Science, technology, sociology, psychology, spirituality and global, national and local politics, art, culture, design. I am especially good at working with my hands--building and fixing things, cooking, gardening and home projects are all things I enjoy immensely. I enjoy great conversation...not cocktail party chit chat, per se (though I can and do hold my own in light conversation), I enjoy the deeper stuff...learning about another person's interests and passions, discussing current events and what brings another person joy.

I'd like to add, I am really good at kissing... with the right lab partner.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hmmm...That I drink tap water? Maybe it's all that magnetic charisma I exude. ; )
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Pretty much read everything. Music (l'm musically promiscuous)-- the Shins, Dr. Dog, Yo La Tengo, and old school... Cinnamon Girl, Layla, Leon Russell, Beck, Dr. John, LedZep, Genesis, Saturday mornings with Steely Dan, the JayB's, SRV, Clapton, BBK... I love Blues and R&B! ...ALL kinds of art and design. Architecture is a constant joy and inspiration. I love to experiment with cooking and entertaining. Reading is a passion. Can't get enough of that there NPR!
The six things I could never do without
Fun stuff.... interesting stuff ...stuff that you can talk about. Creating things, making things, fixing things, understanding how things work. Insatiably curious. What makes people tick? Fascinated by the world. Friends, cooking, eating, drinking and and making merry. The onomatopoeia of Yiddish. Analog. Taking time to do something meaningful. Shenanigans. Walking, biking, swimming. Especially swimming--meditative. Vulnerability. Tenderness. Honesty. Inquisitiveness. My daughter, family and friends. Exploring. Nesting in a hammock on a spring day. Conversation. Intelligence. A comfortable, cozy room. Photography. The sound of power tools : ) Summer gifts: porch gatherings, lightening bugs; the scent of a sun-ripened heirloom tomato, or a just-picked strawberry; the smell of the air ("petrichor") after a summer rain; a warm outdoor shower after a perfect beach day. High school half-times (infectious excitement!!!). The holidays... ..especially Thanksgiving. The flutter of anticipation. The wonder of a sleeping baby's smile. Dancing bonfire shadows. Radio singalongs. Hand surfing the wind in the car. Cricket vibrato in damp evening grass. Kids playing flashlight tag. Party laughter. Ice cream man jingle. Warm surf running over my feet. The sound of a distant lawnmower. A whisper. A touch. A kiss.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
everything... sometimes I just need to turn it off! :)
On a typical Friday night I am
relaxing, unwinding, enjoying.
