I am funny, determined, and strong.

My Self-Summary

Yay! You stumbled on a freespirited, happy cuddling in front of a fire watching a movie, enjoying a glass of wine or screaming at the Buffalo sports scene type of girl!

I'm 28 and have lived in Buffalo my whole life (and still love the place, even though I think politicians may be ruining it). The majority of my immediate family still lives in the area and I'm really quite close with all of them.

I'm a diehard Bills and Sabres fan - through the good, bad, and unbearably are you kidding me. I love to travel and would do it as often as time permits. I've been pretty lucky to have traveled to some awesome places so far and can't wait to get back on the open road.

A little about my personality - I try to see things half full most of the time. Sure, I have my share of moments that are lacking in positivity but for the most part I try to keep things light. I'd rather laugh about something and crack a joke then have tensions get out of control - granted, I've had a joke or two backfire ... I tend to be a little sarcastic at times but I'm working at keeping that in check - or at the least toning it down. I think I'm pretty funny. Granted, it's a weird sense of humor I suppose and you get it or you don't. At least I'm quite inclined to do something stupid or foolish and that's always worth a good laugh (I'll probably be laughing with you).

Other than that, I'm pretty laid back. When I come home from work I prefer to just relax with a tv show or a good book. I've never much been into the bar scene but every now and then I like to go out and have a good time - whether it be at a bar, a movie, dinner, or whatnot.

Let's see ... other little tidbits about me ... I love severe weather - bring on the wind, hail, snow, sleet, rain ... you name it. I like camping and fishing (neither of which I get to do anywhere near enough). I love golfing and keep hoping I'll get better. My ideal vehicle would be a Jeep Wrangler, I've always loved one but have never owned one - or driven in one :( . I have a dog, she's 9 and is on the mend from an ACL tear. I can't complain, she's had no injuries since Day 1. I have two degrees, one in criminal justice and one in forensics and my job has, effectively, nothing to do with either. Though I do like to think that I use some of the skills I learned so it wasn't a complete waste.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I'm working a gov't job that I love. I've been in this position for about a year and a half now and have no desire to leave. Beyond work I'm just enjoying Buffalo and looking forward to the winter (I know, I love winter!).

Other than those generics, I'm enjoying the start of hockey season and growing disgusted with the football season. Okay, I'm only disgusted with the Bills. But at least I have my fantasy teams to keep me entertained. And I can also dream of the day when Dick Jauron isn't our head coach.

What else am I doing? Trying to learn piano. Yah, by myself, with a book and computer program (and a keyboard duh! lol). I've always wanted to learn and yes, I acknowledge that learning how to read music would REALLY help.

I’m really good at

puzzles. I like sudoku and the NY Times crossword puzzle. I like to write, though my muse has been avoiding me for FAR too long. Alas, I miss the days when it was there and I would go into a frenzy, writing through the night. No, probably nothing good, but I enjoyed it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Hmm, I like scifi books, Dean Koontz is a good author, I read a wide range of things - some more popular series would be Twilight and Harry Potter. I'm currently reading the House of Night series as well as Sign of the Zodiac series. And I'll admit it, I love Barnes and Noble. I like just picking up a random book and giving it a whirl. Sometimes I could spend hours in there - though the people that sit around the fire creep me out a little. IDK why.

Movies - wide range again. Horror, Fear, Comedy, Action, Adventure ... you name it I've either seen it or want to. Ok, I'm not an LOTR fan. TV - reality shows, dramas, sports, USA/Sci fi flicks.

Music - if it's on Kiss I listen, I also like the music on Z101 .. which is pretty similar to kiss. Sometimes I flick over to country (I went through a phase - I think my mom thinks I still love it).

Food - I'm very open to food. I'll try anything once - and then again if I like it. I've been trying to eat healthier these past few years, cutting out fast food and fried goods. I'll still indulge myself now and then but it's definitely not a staple of the diet anymore. Some favs - seafood (clams, crab legs, calamari), spicy foods, meats, asparagus (I know!). One thing I don't like ... tomatoes.

The six things I could never do without

1. My cell phone (as much as I hate it I freak out when it's missing)
2. My family - we're close
3. TV - gotta have my sports and tv shows lol
4. Computer - who doesn't love their comp?
5. Starbucks

6 I'll have to think about.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Where I'll be in 1 year, 2 years, 5 years. Now that I think about it, I should spend more time thinking about today before it's gone. Thanks :)

On a typical Friday night I am

at home, just watching tv or a movie. I can't say I'm a bar hopper. Sometimes I like to go out, but for the most part I'm quite happy staying in. The majority of my friends live in Rochester so it makes it tough. But I would be happy at a quiet bar (I'm always looking for a nice adult-like martini bar) or out at a sporting event of some sort.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm a klutz. I fall up stairs, I fall down stairs, I trip over things I tell myself not to trip over (broke my toe once doing that). I seem to have no concept at times of my body and nail things with it - as if the dresser hasn't always been in the same spot. I was on a pallet at work once and said to myself (watch your step back, the pallet is a little lower behind you). Sure enough, I stepped back and not only did I not remember the height difference, but I missed the pallet completely. Yah, that one could have been an .. omg, is she hurt story .. but in the end was just a funny one. I also have a bad streak with water at mini golf courses ...

You should message me if

you want to get to know me better - whether it only ends up friends or we're lucky and it becomes more. It's tough to convey yourself in a few paragraphs. I'll answer the quizzes and that should help. But hey, ask anything you want. I'm pretty open. I figure we're all on here for a reason so maybe now is the time to start messaging someone you normally wouldn't be interested in OR someone you normally wouldn't have the guts to contact. Yah, I'm talking about myself mainly. :)
