My self-summary
Been living in San Francisco for a over a year now, loving every minute of it. Went to school and worked for a bit in Chicago, but originally from Seattle, so SF feels like home; the west coast runs through my veins!
What I’m doing with my life
On the professional side, I work in finance. I use to wake up at 4:30am every Monday to go to work, but now work for a tech company where getting in at 8am is considered early; yay for more sleep!

I do my best to keep my role at work from becoming just a job: doing things from teaching impov to my co-workers to finding any instance to inject a bit of humor into my day-to-day; I once wrote a parody of the Hunger Games which my team proceeded to perform in front of a large group of other finance teams.

I do my best to try something new each weekend, whether that's trying a new restaurant, hiking, or doing something completely random; life wouldn't be any fun without exploration!
I’m really good at
Embarrassing myself. I don’t always take myself as seriously as I should, but pretension was never one of my strengths. I tend to embrace my eccentricities and am most comfortable when I am in situations where I can do that.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am skinny and a bit awkward. I am the first to admit that my first impressions are not always mind blowing. Depending on the situation, I can come across as a ball of nervous energy, which sometimes throws people off and makes it hard for me to connect on an initial meeting. However, over time the relationship sinks in and hopefully the awkwardness become endearing.

As for the skinny part, despite appearance, I do like to eat, in fact, it’s one of my passions!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books: Lolita (greatest book in the world!), LOTR, Dune, Liar's Poker, the Education of Henry Adams.

Movies- Anything by David Lynch, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Blade Runner, Alien, I am a sucker for horror movies

Shows- Iron Chef (the original Japanese version!), Top Chef, Twin Peaks

Music- Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, U2, Cher (My first CD and concert!), the Killers

Food- Anything
The six things I could never do without
My shoes -- I walk everywhere that I can, which would be pretty hard to do without shoes!
My sunglasses -- I have developed the habit of always wearing my sunglasses outside (even on cloudy days)...I'd feel so bare without them.
Las Vegas -- I try to go at least twice a year; there's a part of me that loves ostentatious things and the sheer over-the-topness of Vegas satisfies this part + it's one of the few places I can get a steam shower in my room!
My iPhone apps -- from Yelp to Sosh, I am always looking for something new to try, which is nicely facilitated by apps.
Milk- I don’t drink soda or coffee (due to taste), instead my life is run on lots and lots of milk!
Failure- There’s no better way to improve than to seek out challenges where you are likely to fail. You try something new, fail, fail again, and fail some more, until one day, when you thought you would keep failing, you succeed.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I’ve been told that I think too much, so I should probably skip this part. Suffice to say, I spend a lot of time thinking about anything and everything. When I am done thinking about something, I’ll think about it some more, and then some more. I like to think a lot.
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying a new restaurant, going out dancing, staying in reading a good book, depends on the week and my mood!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’ll give you two things: First, I don’t like to meet new people at restaurants or when food is involved. I like to eat, but don’t enjoy it as much when I am meeting someone new.

Two, when I was in junior high, I loved to watch pro-wrestling. I haven’t watched wrestling on a regular basis since then but the little junior higher in me comes out from time-to-time when WWE is on TV!
