My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Yes this is old and stale. (Like me?). I ask you just to deal. Changes are coming with the warmer weather and more sunlight.

Now taking applicants for experienced or inexperienced crew for sailing (mis)adventures in scenic and historic Boston Harbor.

A friend recently (well, now it was a while ago. *sigh*) described me as "charmingly neurotic, funny, and well-rounded." That sounds about right, but she left-out successful and smart so she's "on notice" now.

Why take a stranger's word for it? Find out for yourself!

Things I enjoy: yoga, sailing, movies, music, (liberal) politics, weekends.

Things I do not enjoy: traffic, right-wingers, gloves, typing in all-caps, most vegetables (I'm getting better about that last one. But still. "You can't make friends with salad.")

So that's all a pretty dry list. I'm much more fun that this static page implies. Go ahead and shoot me an email. I can guarantee that I'll make you laugh at least once.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
What AM I doing with my life? That's a great question. Whatever it is, it must be working because I'm still here. I work way too hard. I hope it pays off.

I'm pretty obsessed with airport games on my iPhone. I could turn that into a pilot's license someday. Or perhaps that's just silly.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cracking my gum loudly and repeatedly. The secret is to have a strong and flexible tongue. Draw your own conclusions.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no idea. You can let me know when I buy you a cocktail.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

These are a few of my favorite things:
sailing, yoga, npr, pbs, tv (it's a problem), movies, music, booze, lower-case

Music deserves some refinement, maybe. I listen to music pretty much all the time. Here's a taste of what I like (in no order whatsoever):
Bjork, Sigur Ros, Neko Case, Rilo Kiley, The Rosebuds, Girl Talk, Silversun Pickups, Editors, Imogen Heap, Arcade Fire, Interpol, Pretty much anything on KEXP. Or anything that was on 'FNX in 1992. (Remember when 'FNX didn't suck?), the usual gay stuff (Madonna, showtunes), classical, opera, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, ummmm, I'm sure there's more. I like music.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My kindle. Beer. Friends. Sailboats. Yoga. Ice cream.

I sleep with my kindle. I snuggle it like a teddy bear. Not even kidding.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about what I'd rather be doing. Unless I'm having fun. Then that's all I can think about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Getting out of work as soon as I can so I can get to yoga class and then go meet-up with friends. Or, if they're not around, getting takeout and catching up on TiVo.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It is almost impossible for me to hear "Frosty the Snowman" without tearing-up. No, I don't care that "he'll be back again someday." I don't want him to have to leave! (Perhaps it's time to talk about this with a therapist.)

You should message me if you want to. I'll say something that will make you giggle. Probably. Or not. Life's a gamble.
