I am affectionate, adorkable, and I have a pizza dance.

My Self-Summary

I've lived in Florida all my life and I love it here. I love the sunshine and the water. When I'm not working, I like poking at the stingrays and dolphins at SeaWorld, going to the beach and swimming or attempting to surf, dancing to cheesy disco music at Independent Bar, and having absurd conversations with my friends. I'm also a bit on the nerdy side in that I am easily excited by a compelling programming project or most things Nintendo-related.

In general, I am a man of few words, though you can expect those few words to be profound. Or ridiculous. Okay... mostly ridiculous. That's not to say I can't hold a decent conversation, but I tend to be more of an observer/listener in group social situations. At least until a good one-liner needs to be interjected.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm studying Computer Science at UCF and working to pay the bills. I am also determined to one day start an Internet phenomenon (Lolcats, for example). It will happen.

I’m really good at

Creating useless websites. For example, I made one that asks for the addresses of two other websites, generates old-school RPG statistics for them based on their content, and then battles them against each other.

I can make a delicious pot of chicken curry.
... now I'm hungry!

I am an excellent listener. I make no guarantees on the quality of my advice, though. ;)

I am also the best person I know at the rhythm game "Elite Beat Agents." (aka "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!"). It is for this reason that I have an unhealthy love for both Earth, Wind, and Fire's "September" and Hyde's "Glamorous Sky."

The first things people usually notice about me

Definitely my eyes. There have been a few instances where the first thing out of someone's mouth upon meeting me is a compliment on my eyes. I've also been told that my facial expressions are entertaining, particularly when I'm confused or disturbed by something and don't realize people are looking.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I generally like fantasy and sci-fi novels, so Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and most anything by Michael Crichton are among my favorites. The Dresden Files series of books are up there as well, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next one. I'm always looking for something new though, so if you have any suggestions for what I should read next, I'd really like to hear them!

As for movies, I don't get to see too many anymore, but some of my favorites include The Dark Crystal, Jurassic Park, Lost In Translation, The Abyss, Star Wars, the various Monty Python movies, and anything featuring Bruce Campbell's mighty chin. If a movie features time travel, it's probably a good indicator that I'll like it as well. Yes, this includes The Lake House. I admit it.

Favorite TV shows include MST3k, Lost, Futurama, and *tear* Firefly, though there are quite a few others that I enjoy if I happen to catch them on (House and NCIS, for example).

My favorite food is Italian--particularly my grandmother's. I also love Japanese and Thai. I am not picky. I will try just about anything.

Music is tough. It's hard to nail down my musical tastes (yes, everyone says something like this). I'll just throw some things out there. The Beatles, Billy Joel, Queen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Seatbelts, Daft Punk, They Might Be Giants, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, New Order, random show tunes (Les Misérables, Avenue Q), and (one of my guilty pleasures) video game music. Of course, there is much more than this.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I spend a lot of time thinking about life, the universe, what my next programming project should be, and how some people manage to scratch optical media so badly.

On a typical Friday night I am

I'm usually up for a movie, going dancing, playing some board games or video games (I'm terrible at FPS, but if a game of Mario Kart or Bomberman comes up, watch out!). I love listening to live music too, but I don't get to do it very often.

I-Bar is my home on Tuesday nights, but I enjoy the other nights as well. I don't drink, but the music is fun and the people are always entertaining.

Once a week, my friends and I get together to expose some poor, unsuspecting group of strangers to our substantial brains by playing some team trivia. We've been doing it for years now and it's always a good time.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a small collection of haiku that I have written. One of them is about Tetris. The rest are similarly themed. I am quite proud of them.

You should message me if

You should message me if you're cute, perhaps a little geeky about something, and are looking for a warm, affectionate, sometimes silly guy. Bonus points if you can appreciate the quote "That's the second biggest monkey head I've ever seen" or if you want to dance with me!
