What I’m doing with my life
I just moved to Austin from the northeast in mid February. I'm considering going back to school at some point for a Ph.D. (perhaps at UT?). I own my own business. I'm putting out records on my record label, helping people put out records, selling records, and playing on records. So yes, there are a lot of records involved in my life.

Generally speaking, I try to infuse my life with knowledge, exploration, creativity, subversion, and honesty. I'm very driven and live my life with intensity. I know people say that on sites like this, but I actually do.
I’m really good at
Telling the truth, beating on the drums, learning quickly, finding videos of dudes high as fuck on angel dust on YouTube, psychology (they even gave me a degree!), quickly turning my bedroom into a recording studio, absurdity, dark humor, being a diehard individualist.
The first things people usually notice about me
Eyes, tattoos, confident strut, and style. Oh, and clearly my modesty. Haha.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS:
Retromania by Simon Reynolds is the last great, truly influential book that I've read.

MUSIC:
Punk rock/ hardcore (1979-1985 stuff mostly, not the stupid macho metal stuff)/ post punk/ garage rock/ psychedelic rock/ dub /weirdo outsider music made by crazy people for crazy people/ krautrock/ 60s & 70s soul (Motown Tamla, Stax, etc)/ glam rock/ etc etc etc

SHOWS:
The Prisoner (original '67 version) is the greatest television show to ever exist. Twin Peaks, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Walking Dead ain't too shabby either.

FILMS:
Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Sam Peckinpah, Sidney Lumet, Martin Scorsese, John Schlesinger, Alfred Hitchcock, Sergio Leone, Michelangelo Antonioni, Francois Truffaut, Ingmar Bergman, David Kronenberg, John Cassavetes, etc etc etc
The six things I could never do without
1. Trying to scare myself at least once per day
2. My Fender Jaguar
3. Subversion (all forms)
4. Watching documentaries on Netflix
5. Stuffing my face with tons of Thai food
6. The powers of free association
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why current western culture is so obsessed with the past when the present exists.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing guitar in my underwear. Either in my bedroom or on some stage.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know how to whistle!

You should message me if
You're a Chrissie Hynde lookalike! Or if you're clever and creative. Sadly I don't meet enough clever and creative people these days. Or if you find my manifesto here to be of some interest.
