What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved to Austin a little over 2 years ago. I'm considering going back to school at some point for a Ph.D. (perhaps at UT?). I own my own business. I'm putting out records on my record label, helping people put out records, selling records, and playing on records. So yes, there are a lot of records involved in my life.

Generally speaking, I try to infuse my life with knowledge, exploration, creativity, subversion, and honesty. I'm very driven and live my life with intensity. I know people say that on sites like this, but I actually do.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Telling the truth, beating on the drums, learning quickly, finding videos of dudes high as fuck on angel dust on YouTube, psychology (they even gave me a degree!), quickly turning my bedroom into a recording studio, absurdity, dark humor, being a diehard individualist.

Retromania by Simon Reynolds is the last great, truly influential book that I've read.

Punk rock/ hardcore (1979-1985 stuff mostly, not the stupid macho metal stuff)/ post punk/ garage rock/ psychedelic rock/ dub /weirdo outsider music made by crazy people for crazy people/ krautrock/ 60s & 70s soul (Motown Tamla, Stax, etc)/ glam rock/ etc etc etc

The Prisoner (original '67 version) is the greatest television show to ever exist. Twin Peaks, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Walking Dead ain't too shabby either.

Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Sam Peckinpah, Sidney Lumet, Martin Scorsese, John Schlesinger, Alfred Hitchcock, Sergio Leone, Michelangelo Antonioni, Francois Truffaut, Ingmar Bergman, David Kronenberg, John Cassavetes, etc etc etc
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I've read so many absolutely boring, cliche responses to this question on either people's profiles that I don't even to think about this question, let alone answer it. Haha
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Ladies, have you ever received an incredibly long-winded message from a guy on here? Did it make you feel overwhelmed even reading it? Did it seem awkward and like the guy sending it was trying too hard? Well, this is exactly how I feel about seeing a profile that is pages and pages of information. Not even the most kindhearted soul is going to read even 70% of it. I'll even make the argument that it's downright self-absorbed. Life is short.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Playing guitar in my underwear. Strutting somewhere on the east side.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
